Credit to Froch last night, he closed the show in a fight I thought he would lose.
Having said that, will Froch dare to rematch Ward - the number 1 man in the division - or, will he take the cashouts vs Chavez, Degale, Kessler III?
Meaningless fights really, he has to fight Ward again who basically dominated him coming in injured.
Who really gives a **** if Froch is number #1 or #2 in the division? No doubt Ward is the better boxer and would probably beat Froch again but end of the day Froch is active, is fighting in big fights and selling out arena's while Ward is in disputes with his promoters.
I'm sure Froch is quite content with going out there and doing his thing in front of 80,000 people while Ward sits at home and twiddles his thumbs.
Whether #1 or #2, Froch is the "money man" and "hottest commodity" at Super Middleweight.
Ward, right now IMO, is just not relevant.
Ward is #1 Froch is #2 in the ring. Unless they fight again or Ward loses that's the way it is. As far as power and name recognition Froch is #1.
Not to take anything away from Froch he did his thing last night. But it's pretty clear Hearns and Froch don't want any piece of Ward, Because they know theres a good chance he loses.Froch is at the tail end of his career, he's a huge draw at home, why risk a potentially embarrassing defeat and shatter the illusion. when he can fight decent opponents Build his legacy, cash big cheques and have his fans convinced he's #1. if he fights Ward again Froch and his fans will have no exuses.
It's pretty clear No one from 160-175 want a piece of Ward. Hopkins, GGG, Froch, Chavez are avoiding him like the plaque that should tell people something.
Your own reasoning was that Ward was no. 1 because he dominated Froch. Dont spin it.
how am i spinning it? im expanding it. what i offered in my first post was a quick explanation because i couldnt be bothered going in detail but since to want the nitty and gritty here u go.
to be the man u have to beat the man especially if he has already beaten u. same situation with ggg, i dont give a sh1t who he beats, if it aint martinez he aint no.1. at 160, its that simple
and about ur hypothetical situation regard khan and presscott, if presscott moves up to 147 and beat lets say collazo i would rank him higher than khan because they beat the same opponent in the weight division but he also beat khan.
bute/mack/groves are not better than opponents than what ward has already beaten so how the fu"k can anyone rate froch above ward. it makes 0 sense.
If froch and ward fought right now,, ward would be the heavy favorite and dominate froch again... Thats why i have ward at #1
Activity doesnt make you the best, just makes you the most active... Ward still the kingpin at 168
except ward has beaten most of the guys froch has but done so more decisively and then dominated froch when they fought. beating the likes of groves, yusuf mack etc. isnt going to change that. if froch wants to prove he is no.1 go ahead and fight ward.
and about ur comment on ward fighting bums since, is chad dawson a bum? is rodriguez a bum when compared to yusuf mack or groves? groves is a creation of frochs underestimation, had it prepared properly the first time no one would talk about groves any more.

Funny that if Bredis Prescott had gone back to the Colombia bum circuit after KO'ing Amir Kahn you'd have him higher ranked than the brit and Khan could do nothing about it.

:lol1::lol1:
Ward is the BEST....IMHO, atm he's the ONLY fighter qualified to sit on the throne once Floyd retires....that said, Froch is the BEST #2 in ALL of sports :lol1:
I know Ward has been mad inactive.....and with every little Froch win we get the drunks still hungover from Froch's success lol.....I love Froch but Ward is definitely THEE MAN at 168.....ONLY a "L" can change that, NOTHING else
plus I was told that everytime BHop wins, Calzaghe's legacy gets an "add on" a few pluses so to say.....so I'm telling ya'll, there's NO WAY Froch can EVER be the BEST at 168 without beating Ward.....because everytime Froch wins, Ward's stock rises....I didn't make the rules, I just Play the game!! lol

So Ward can just fight a bum a year and maintain the no. 1 spot based on a head to head win several years ago?
I think that is so wrong.
Agreed. Ward has lost the number 1 spot through inactivity, Froch has been active constantly at top level, he is the next best active fighter.
You sound upset because the Golovkin's and Chavez's and Kovalev's and Matthyse's aren't as good as these "runners and clinchers" lmao
Or he's still salty at what a runner and clincher did to his Hatton. One of the funniest KO's in many years.
how can he be number 1 when the guy who dominated him when they fought is still at 168? froch fans needs to calm the fu$k down, he is no.2 in at 168 no doubt but all this talk about being no.1 is fu£ing deluded

Golovkin is not #1 at 160 either, Chavez is not #1 at 168, Kovalev is not #1 at 175, Matthysse is not #1 at 140.
People would all rather watch them, let the runners and clinchers go run and clinch.
Since when do you speak for the entire boxing community?
IMO
Froch had a great win last night, really rose to the occasion, and showed the difference between a domestic fighter and a world class fighter..
Froch is a clear #2 in the division, but he would get trounced by ward, and i think it would be by a wider margin than in the 1st fight..
Froch looked old, slow, and not good reaction time, his age has def caught up with him,, He did have enough left to defeat groves, but i think ward would pummel froch at this point..
Froch-chavez jr, hopkins, ggg, are the fights that froch has a chance to win, but ward would own him
