Was clearly losing the first fight and lucky stoppage,
Was being outfoxed by an inexperienced kid lastnight and landed a lucky punch.
Groves has fought no one and was made look world class by an overrated Carl Froch.
I think he should retire.

I think you are mistaking it for the fourth JMM and Pac fight, when JMM got lucky with his punch after being battered by Pac.
Then Marquez got lucky too against Pacquiao, right ?
Marquez did get lucky against Pacquiao, apples and oranges. Froch was winning the fight against Groves.
I think we can all agree that you're a troll.
Also, what the hell is BoxingScene's 'Official Money Team'? :lol1:
It's just to prevent his little boys club being confused with any 'unofficial' 'boxingscene money team' from forming
I would say an inferior fighter lost the superior one, Groves had some advantages but he was never able to maintain them in either fight getting broke down both times.
Advantages are great to have but you have to actually accomplish something with them, Froch was able to weather the storm and once the storm was past it was really clear sailing.
I dont understand...he was losing the fight before it was over...so does that mean he deserved to lose or something? How many times have we seen a fighter go down in the scorecards and come on to win a fight?
It aint over til its over. Thats why they fight all 12--unless, of course, someone gets KTFO.
I had Groves up 5-2. But if you look in the 6th Froch was already banking the later rounds with vicious body punches. Before "The punch that ended all punches" he cracked Groves with a short right upper that turned his head, I knew then he was hurt.
Froch was up on my card, actually. Gave him the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th. Thought the first round was close too. Groves landed the harder jabs (as they exchanged jabs) but froch had a right hand that landed that could have spun it his way in the first.
All in all, from the 4th round on you could visibly see Groves being broken down. Froch began opening up more, his body shots were definitely taking their toll. Groves punches started slowing down and he became more reluctant to take the center of the ring (as he did first 3 rounds with froch) and was scaling the ropes more and more.
It was obvious what direction the fight was going IMO. The Punch shocked the hell out of me. I foresaw groves folding under a flurry of some sort after breaking down.. not getting flattened.
But, again, the right hand landed because he had slowed down from the body shots. Froch threw that punch quite a few times to no avail.. eventually his work got groves to slow down just enough to where it would start landing.
It was systematic. One of the best performances I've seen from Froch. It was a very educated and experienced fight for him. Kill the body, the head will follow.
Incase you didn't notice...
Groves was infact actually pacing himself and he wasn't tired, I know its surprising actually really shocking and a hard analysis to make!
So by you saying Groves was tiring in turn you're discrediting Froch's win, well done.
It's part of a game plan for a lot of fighters. When you know a fighter is faster than you then you try to wear them out and get them tired so that they slow down. That's why Carl was throwing power punches to the body, to tire George out and make him slow enough to time him nicely. It worked.

You're the "CEO" of boxigscenes "Money Team" yet were supposed to take you serious? :crackhead
I feel like practically every single thread on these forums is either full of trolls, fanboys who back one fighter at the expense of all logic, or fans so casual they honestly believe the idiotic statements they preach. I don't think I've posted more than twice in two years because of this. It's gone from regular intelligent boxing conversations to an exercise in futility to discuss the sport here.
Good fight last night. The younger Groves started solidily, was having success and winning rounds early, and then at the end of round 4, a round Groves still won, Froch came on with that late body barrage; and won every subsequent round until he knocked George out.
Call it an effective game plan, or experience prevailing, but luck? I wonder if some posters just put the fight on, walk out of the room, and put on cartoons while they masturbate in the next room. I'm beyond frustrated with the discussions here.
Take care.
There are no lucky punches in boxing. These are trained professionals trying to throw shots that land and hurt their opponent. If they land, then that is mission accomplished
I hate it when fighters knock eachother out in fights.
I mean, it's just not what they plan or train to do..incredibly lucky.
If i was Froch i wouldn't be able to look myself in the mirror until i had offered Groves an immediate rematch. I mean Carl Froch being aggressive and going for a finish..who would of predicted that. He's just not that kind of fighter.
He must of found himself a rabbit foot or something on Saturday morning.
This poster doesn't agree the punch was lucky. Groves was ahead on points when he got knocked out but Froch as coming on strong. Froch had won the last three rounds and he was getting his punches in while Groves was tiring. I have no doubt Froch would have knocked him out if not in that round then soon. Groves was not going to make it to the final bell ending round 12 and there was nothing lucky about it. Froch was too tough and determined with too much stamina, power and skill for Groves. Outboxing Froch for a few rounds doesn't win him the fight. Froch has knocked him out twice and he would knock him out 5 more times if they fought 5 more times.
