Lopez may not be a top contender in his division but I will ALWAYS watch him fight and actually watch out for his fights more than higher ranked fighters for some reason, although... I dont really know where I would rank him in his division
He cant seem to beat any elite level fighters (with exception of Ortiz) but he always seems to make a fun fight to watch.
With better management and smarter fights picked for him i think Lopez could really be a decent threat again in the 140-147lb division just kinda puzzled on where he sits now
Josesito has been fed to lions in higher divisions since he cracked Ortiz jaw. These lions have ripped him apart in my opinion. He had no business fighting Canelo at 154 and same for Maidana. Lopez should have stayed at 140 lbs
I'd personally like to see him fight Keith Thurman. But I'm like a lot of boxing fans and enjoy watching Josesito Lopez fight, he's gotten a lot better with age. He's always tough opposition.
Hes a good fighter that got pushed too fast. Hes been fighting killers that are way bigger than him
If he fights someone his own size, he can put on a good show
He's been living off that Ortiz for too long now. I saw him struggle with Mighty Mike Artounis and that should be a indication on where he's at. I really think Josesito Lopez should fight Mike Alvarado in a loser retires match.
Sorry to say but fighters like Josesito Lopez, Zab Judah, Luis Collazo, Jesus Soto-Karass and Paulie Malinaggi need to stay off TV slots. Haymon and Golden Boy have been recycling these guys to all of the champs so they can avoid a 50/50 fight that people want to see.
