Mel Kiper :) those you listed know their Boxing. Can you imagine watching a fight with Pauly Walnuts
but clearly aren't a fan of boxing, like in one of floyd's fights Mariah Carey is in the background, she clearly don't like boxing!
I like them there, shows how big boxing still is. There are some die-hard celebs too who attend evry big fight like: Magic,Walberg,Denzel, Metta World and Stalone to name a few who attend almost all big fights and many others.:boxing::boxing::boxing:
no, but i seriously dislike people like you though. what are you trying to say? you have to be a die hard boxing fan to attend an event?
nobody is born a fan, we all become fans of the sport at some stage and start getting into it. if you have millions and millions of dollars why not get into it at ringside? is there some rule you have to watch X amount of fights at home before you are allowed to watch a fight live?
makes no sense. besides, all big boxing events are star studded, its one of the ways to tell its a big event and it creates electricity in the arena. the fact that its so important people who dont usually follow the sport feel a need to be there.
seems like sour grapes you cant afford a ticket yourself.
:notworthy:notworthy:notworthy:notworthy
Yeah I think that was the show, blonde dude right? He seemed like he was on something anyway.
He was just like "derp"
Yeah hes an airhead in the show too. Ironic he always plays a doctor in every movie or show.
I don't understand why they go. If you don't like it and don't care, why are you there? It's not like showing up to a fight is going to get a celebrity some kind of recognition they aren't already getting.
Celebrities have to be seen I guess. Especially the ones that are on the slide.

Agreed, OP is a jealous sod. Stop being a hater OP
Who are you to assume that these celebrities clearly hate boxing? Do you know these celebrities personally? Don't assume things. Even if what you say has an element of truth (and I'm not saying whether there is or there isn't), there's nothing wrong with someone attending a boxing fight either out of curiosity or just with someone.
It's not a ****ing elitist club that can only be attended if you're a hardcore fan. Anyone can attend.
I mean if they buy the tickets then whats the problem
I think some don't buy it. Either that or they get a huge discount to just show up, I know celebs get invited sometimes. Celebrities are usually found at boxing "events". I don't see what is so hard to understand. And I repeat, if they don't buy it, these fans complaining aren't going to pay up $10k for those seats, so shut up and either buy the PPV or buy your $50-300-500 dollar seat.

Some of the celebs strike me as phony and pretentious when they are at the fights, because they obviously just want to be seen in a glamorous light. Having high priced, ringside seats is a status symbol to them especially the ones we know are barely even half-wit fans of the sport.
It does raise the profile of the event though when they are there. It's a signaling effect of "these guys brought all the stars out."
