Why accept the numbers from a twitter no one but reject numbers from official areas?
What 'official areas' have released the numbers exactly? Mannix is doing what every other sports writer who has chimed in on the subject has done- throw out a number they claim unnamed sources gave them. Rick Glazer was the only one who gave an actual number, 854K buys, while everyone else says things like 'an estimated 900K' or 'between 800-900K'.
No one from Showtime, Golden Boy, or Mayweather Promotions as come out and said what the figures are.
estimate? after almost a month?:nonono:
wonder which remote places the rest of the numbers will come from...it takes a month to reach gbp/sho.
Has Bob Arum released the official numbers yet for Pacquiao-Bradley 2? It's been almost 2 months now.
Are they waiting for the final figures from Macau to reach them or what?
'At this point in my career i can literally put anyone in front of me and we'll sell'....not something to say before a fight even casuals knew was a mismatch.
Like who???
Ive been asking you for years and you can never answer.
For years, I mentioned names like Manny would do great numbers ..... and you then go into hibernation!
Also mentioned Sergio Martinez, Paul Williams, ..... ..... and you then go into hibernation!
While they wouldn't do as good PPV numbers but I'm just trying to respond to your question.
His previous fights show that when Floyd says "Health comes first", he really means that he doesn't fight risky opponents or makes sure that the opponent that he does fight has their advantages removed (IE. pillow gloves, CWs, ......)
How is Manny Pacquiao a risky opponent? Serious question. And can we move on from Manny. You claim to be well versed in this Arum-Floyd crap so know the deal with that fight.
Martinez hasnt made 154 pounds in forever and is a full fledge Middleweight has been for years now.
Soooooo
Who are the challenges? I see you always post that roadblock challenges picture but who are the challenges?
A green Porter and Thurman? Garcia? A MW GGG? Ward? Lara lol?
Forget PPV numbers what fighter right here today in the weight classes that Floyd fights in (147/154) are challenges?
Would you had preferred Floyd fought Bradley, Rios or rematched JMM again for a challenge?
YOU said that you have been asking FOR YEARS, who were Floyd's challenges.
Well, I answered you and you usually go into hibernation. YOU changed the topic from "WHO WERE THESE CHALLANGES" to "WHO ARE THESE CHALLANGES"
Read your posts and you will see what time it is.
As for today's risky opponents, it will be hard to make because Floyd has that roadblock called "Health comes first". So even if Floyd fights a relatively risky opponent, he will try to manage to remove the opponents advantages. Floyd removed, Canelo's with his CW, the promoted KO artist Maidana was given pillow gloves ......
the estimate grows each month... i won't be surprise if it reaches a million buys by june. :fingersx:

if it's just an estimate that means it's under 900K and they're expecting it to reach that much when all the numbers come in...it may or may not.

Youve only paid floyd and the tv networks.... literally nobody else... you really think expenses end there?
Are you trying to say that the rest of the people involved don't work for free? That's odd. Based on what I read here, it seems like only floyd gets paid.
People should remember that there was almost no marketing or promotion for this fight nor any sort of press tour which is why Schaefer was a bit upset at Floyd waiting so long to pick the opponent. With that being said, they saved money on promotion for this fight which i'm sure was a calculated step to minimize overhead.
You guys say this after every fight. Time to retire that excuse. It doesn't work.
$37 million is a very nice chunk of change. I'm sure GBP is quite happy with that.
I don't see how GBP could have made that much in the same time frame. Maybe if they had made Canelo v Cotto and Canelo v Chavez jr.
Floyd has sold approximately 4 mil ppv's in 3 fights in the last 12 months. That is Tyson 1996 sales numbers.
But the tv providers take half... so now youre at 140.
True. With floyd's guarantee you are left with $37 mil.
Given GBP's roster and the number of time fighters fight per year nowadays, do you think GBP could've made this much profit?

I knew it was going to do low numbers. None of my friends that usually tune into Mayweather or Pacquiao fights had any interest in this one. The fight turned out to be pretty good but no one seriously gave Maidana a chance and people weren't willing to pay a premium for another perceived Floyd cherry pick...
