I watched the fight again. One thing that impressed me this time was although he was pressuring Guerrero, he was not throwing coming in. I think he was doing it on purpose looking to counter. Every time Guerrero threw his jab, Lemieux would attempt to dip under it to counter it with a hook. He was fairly successful doing that.
Once he would hurt him, he then turned into his normal mad man self. So he is showing some new tricks. It is almost like he actually studied his opponent and came up with a game plan, instead of the normal steamroll technique he used in the past.
no idea, someone is going to sleep for sure though. i know that much.
quillen is the better boxer imo and he is the more tested of the two as well. but he just looks so open at times and lemieux can really punch. he isnt all that impressive as an all around fighter but his power is just scary. then again his defense is far from flawless as well and he is more aggressive so he could walk into something himself. as we all know quillen can punch too..
again, either man could win but someone is likely getting knocked out.
Incredible the short memories people have here on NSB. Lemieux for as fun as he is to watch has a glass jaw. Damn people are forgetful. He steps up in Comp and he gets KO'd. Period, end of story.
Quillin will probably fight him because they're running out of JMW's.
A bull rushing, defenseless kid?
Yea, He'll like this, just like the 5'4 comeforward midget he last fought
It's hard to say. Lemieux doesn't really work his way in. He just kinda rushes in. I still question his stamina after what happened against Rubio. A skilled boxer would probably easily outpoint Lemieux. Lemieux doesn't seem to have much of an outside game. He just likes to attack on the inside. Now, the inside is one of Quillin's numerous weaknesses. So, if Lemieux got inside, he could give Quillin trouble. And Quillin's chin isn't exactly great, as Rosado showed. I think if the fight is fought on the outside, Quillin beats Lemieux. If Lemieux is able to consistently get inside, he probably beats Quillin. This is really a close matchup between two highly flawed middleweights.
Yea, he just walked in. Guerrero was moving around a lot too, but he had him reeling and covering up pretty badly most the time against the ropes.
I think Quillin catches him rushing in.... although Koneckny did land some good shots on him and he basically came in the same way occasionally
Rosado was at least utilizing his jab when he was pressuring his way in

Just saw the fight.... very meh. Just a bull obliterating a china shop.
Honestly, didn't think he looked that great
Yeah you can see the counter shots just begging to be landed. He squares up coming in way too much, waiting for a big left hook and Quillin has a big left hook, just like Lemieux's
I cannot pick. It could end by KO either way. I would slightly favor Quillin mainly because I am not really sure Lemieux patched any of the holes he showed against Rubio. If Quillin can weather the early storm he wins by stoppage. Lemieux though could steam roll him early as Quillin is no defensive genius.
I'm sure this fight will happen now that Lemieux has a big win in dominant fashion..
I think quillen is much better and would beat Lemieux and probly stop him in the mid to late rounds..
Quillen isn't an elite level caliber fighter but he is good enough to beat Lemieux
Also very meh on Lemuix still.... everyone saying the Rubio bout was long ago and he gassed... Alcine fight had me more worried. As skilled as Guerrero is, he has a glass chin.
Still don't know what to think on him, then again very meh on Quillin
