Floyd caught Maidana pretty cleanly on multiple occasions, but never once did Chino look as bothered as he did by some of Broner's shots. Could it be that this blown-up lightweight hits harder than the P4P king?
As a wider point, is Mayweather's punching power declining? His last legit KO was Vs Hatton in 07 (lets exclude the Ortiz cheap shot). Arguably it's pot calling kettle black for Floyd to point to Manny's recent lack of KOs as a sign of previous juicing. Manny has 3 stoppages since Floyd fought Hatton
Not Cheeto......
Manny didn't stop Cheeto. So far, we know that you do not KO Rios. He has a granite chin. Why so much emphasis on the fact that Manny didn't stop Rios? He beat him up, BAD and out-skilled him. It was an impressive display. Why did Floyd look bigger than normal against Canelo and Maidana? Is he juicing? Even if he was, would we know? Absolutely not. WHY? Because he has the commission in his back pocket. He can't punch. PERIOD. Broner is stronger than Floyd. We know that now. Look at how Broner's built. It's not so hard to believe. And the Jesus Chavez fight was awesome! I watched a few weeks ago. That's when Floyd was on his way to being an ATG. Once he started to promote himself, his bank account grew, but his desire to be great, diminished.

Bromer prob does hit harder, but Floyd's lack of KO's is more to do with the fact that he doesn't throw as many combinations as he did at the lower weights imho. At the lower weights he was getting TKO's on accumulation because he threw more punches firstly, and he threw them in 3, 4 and 5 punch combo's. Doesn't throw enough combo's or punches anymore.
People think the Chino fight was entertaining, go back and watch Floyd vs Chavez or Floyd vs Augustus and imagine if he threw combo's like that today. The Maidana fight would have been a barnburner and he would have won it possibly by late TKO or at least won every round clearly.
If you watch the Hatton fight, the reason he got Ricky out of there is that when Hatton slowed down enough (round 8) Floyd started throwing combo's at him.
Also to your other point, Manny stopped Cotto, Margo, etc etc at 47, now he can't stop a punching bag in Rios. Floyd was never stopping guys at 47.
and people were laughing at chino when before the fight he said that broner was stronger than floyd. floyd never hurt him or stunned him and his face was pretty clean after the fight.
Maidana himself said that Broner's shots felt harder.
I think it appears that Broner has more raw power but he doesn't have half of Maywather's accuracy and precision. However, Mayweather doesn't commit to this shots as much due to hand problems which Broner does not have. Furthermore, I don't think Broner would be able to keep Canelo, Oscar and Cotto off him like d Floyd was able to.
I don't think Floyd kept De La Hoya, Cotto or Canelo off of him, he stayed away from them. Broner can't do this because his footwork is trash.
Floyd marked up Guerrero and Canelo both fights where he threw hard punches to the face. He targeted Maidana body primarily, watch his hip movement and how he out himself in position to hit Maidana body.
that is true he was mostly going to the body
I think Broner puts his shots together better than Floyd does. He's a more fluid combination puncher than him, especially on the front foot. That's what it takes to stop a guy like Maidana in his tracks. Pot shotting doesn't cut it, which is part of the reason Floyd spent so long with his back to the ropes.
When Broner fought Maidana I remember saying,
"This fool has no power."
Not what does that say about Mayweather...
But... dem body shots prolly slowed his ass down. Chino was exchanging punches with dat nigga.
yeah but watching that fight you have to keep in mind that he had skipped an entire weight class, i don't think what he was doing what unprecedented history wise, but it went against the grain. Him not appearing to be as powerful agaisnt someone like Marcos who had been at WW for a while shouldn't have even been a surprise. And even with that, when interviewed, Marcos says Broner got him to here and there
