I applaud Floyd for "ducking" Ortiz, and I hope he'll "duck" Maidana aswell.

No, I didn't want him to get the rematch. I don't think Mayweather will fight Maidana in September . Now Khan has laid out his stall saying he can't take the fight in September I expect Floyd to offer him the fight knowing it's not an ideal time but that Khan will have no choice but to take it. khan will not take the fight in september his religion is more important it just is muslims dont mess around with stuff like this like christians do

When Floyd said that, I think he was just caught up in the moment as Larry Merchant starting hounding him and pressing the "controversial" ending (which wasn't even controversial). Ortiz then went on to get his jaw broken and got stopped by light punching Collazo in two rounds. Not much to discuss here.

We all know Mayweather is the absolute king of flip flopping and then even denying he has said something even though it's recorded. Didn't he say he would fight Ortiz again after their fight only to drop that idea? Yeah true. There was heavy demand for that.

ortiz didnt really earn the first fight, it was barely an acceptable fight to begin with. then he makes a complete ass of himself against floyd then quits twice in a row in subsequent bouts. when exactly would this rematch take place and how would it make any sense whatsoever? all floyd said was he would be open to the possibility of a rematch down the line, but needless to say it depends on how ortiz rebounds from the loss to floyd and takes his career. when his career went off a cliff any talks of a rematch evaporated and naturally so.

I think the Garcia fight can marinate a bit. Maybe let him knock Khan out this time at 147 to build up for next year. garcia's losing the next time he steps in the ring with a live opponent. he could easily lose to a dead opponent as well.

This thread had little to nothing to do with Ortiz, and everything to do with TS thinking Mayweather is going to duck the Maidana rematch. Sounds like some of you guys completely missed that. Some how...

I'm 98% sure the Maidana rematch is happening. This is the best thing that could have happened for them because he had no one to fight in September I think Garcia could happen. Unlikely but possible. Best bet is Maidana though.

Well the difference is Maidana deserves one much more than Ortiz. I don't think a rematch is warranted with Maidana but he definitely deserves one more than Ortiz did. Ortiz didn't deserve one at all.

Floyd knew he was in trouble so he cheap shotted him. He couldn't risk a rematch Victor Ortiz said it best when he said he was a pu$$y And I 100% guarantee he ducks Maidana for a rematch.
