This Khan UD's Garcia comfortably. Saturday night was the first time I've seen Khan stick to a 12 round game-plan and he looked pretty masterful. Garcia would have to apply intense pressure for 12 rounds to beat Khan and he isn't that type of fighter.
With Khan there is always the chin factor. He may be beating Swift and then get caught and sparked out.
It's a straddle of Khan by decision against Swift by KO.
As Swift has timing and solid power, its 60/40 in his favour.
This was a quality win for Khan's career and a good beginning to 147. Collazo is a tough out and even tho Khan was frisking all night, he fought smart and got the job done. Now he is ready to go deeper into 147 and take on some other names. He absolutely does not deserve to fight Floyd now.
Khan still has the worst fans in human history but I'm not going to hate on his performance.
Anybody who picked Collazo in that fight needs to have a CT scan done on their brain for traumatic injury.
I like the guy and all, but his career highlight was giving Hatton a run for his money in his first fight at 147lbs way back in may of 2006. The KO of Ortiz had much more to do with the fact that Ortiz is a quitting cunt whose heart hasn't been in boxing since Maidana whipped his ass than it had to do with Collazo actually being world class.
I mean, he lost to Berto, FFS.
Good win for Khan, though. A semi-"name" to get his career back on track. Let's see where he takes it now.
Though Khan did beat Maidana ( who is a probably a bigger puncher than Garcia).
If Khan deserves the critics (and he does) he also deserves praise when it's due.
Khan was good enough to beat Maidana once. I am pretty sure he could do it twice, and his carrer would be back on track.
I'm not saying Khan is an elite fighter, but he's not trash either. No worse than Maidana in any case.
Most of the knockdowns were due to being off balance. Collazo looked frustrated by the holding and the fact that he was fighting with ONE arm.
Speed is nice but chin will betray him asap. :fingersx:
Utter rubbish
Jesus
He couldnt even get up, he needed to take a knee

off balance my arse
Collazo is an ex drunk. A guy who barely trains anymore. A guy with a broken hand fighting Amir Klinch.
Khan beats Danny Gracia easy if Collazo changes his name to Danny Garcia and fights him again with a broken hand. :fingersx:
Collazo's big win is Victor Ortiz who hasn't won a fight since 2001. And it was Berto.
Danny by KO again.
Khantards are up there with the most ridiculous in the sport. Their guy has been dropped, ko'd multiple times at the height of his prime and somehow they still believe he's a p4p talent. He is what he is: quick hands, good natural ability, terrible chin and terrible defense unless he is wrestling. Danny Garcia just need to land the hook.
And he wasn't destroying Danny. If you watch the fight again, Danny was timing him and had started to land his hook with relative ease. It was a matter of time.
How is Khan supposed to beat him? Hold him the whole fight? Collazo is just a decent boxer who fought dumb and had no pop. Danny would pop khan in the nuts enough times to make him hug shy.
Its VERY rare to get a point deducted for holding. Khan is scared of inside fighting. He looked pretty sharp though and his frame held the extra weight well. Now its time to face a player at 147 (not floyd)
lol Khan is was fighting a bum that got a lucky punch in his fight before to get the shot at khan
Did you watch his fights against Hatton and Berto? No wonder if Pacman was fighting him you'd never call him a bum lol.
Khan made him look like a bum get over it.
He never hurt Collazo.
He put the guy down 3 times...at one point Collazo was so hurt he was just leaning on the ropes, standing there like a drunk man, dazed, birds circling his head
You people are hilarious, i guess putting a guy on his arse 3 times doesnt count as "hurt"
Jesus
Did you see the rediculous combo khan was throwing when he got caught against Garcia?
Right hand will be planted to his chin all night, plus we don't know how much stronger his chin is at this weight, certainly looks better
Khan was throwing slap flurries, we didnt see any of those flurries over the weekend, Hunter has put a stop to them. My point is exactly that, a lot of things Khan was doing wrong such as pit pater flurries, brawling, not holding when he is hurt and staying the pocket all of which we he didnt do against Collazo
He sits on his punches, i didnt see any flurries, what i saw what a guy throwing 2 heavy punches, and moving around or clinching, Thats the style which Garcia will not enjoy, the less Khan gives to his opponents the less the chance of them catching him clean enough to hurt.
Whatever you want to say, we saw a different Khan in there, more mature, stronger and less brave, he will only get better and better under Hunter, 4th fight coming
Khan still sucks. He's still a chinny cunt with no inside game whatsoever who any competent referee would disqualify for excessive holding and shoving.
Khan would look a million bucks against the very limited Garcia but eventually Danny would land a bomb and that would get the ball rolling in his favor because Khan sucks even worse when he's hurt.
Garcia, once again, by KO.
Agree. I don't know what fight most where watching but Khan looked worse then he usually does. Throwing wild shots for no reason and swinging like crazy when Collazo was in front of him. His accuracy is horrible and at times he made Collazo look like sweet pea, and when Collazo managed to get him in the ropes Khan went back to his old self of squaring up and covering up while Collazo was teeing off of him. Put the pressure on Khan and he looses his ability to control the fight.
khan fans have to stop all that v2.0 crap... he did look a bit better vs Collazo... but his chin is still suspect... watch the fight again & you will notice when Collazo punched khan, he would stop immediately... won't be long before he gets hit in the face by a strong welter & get KO'd... again.
I thought Hatton edged it out every time I watched it, but I'll concede that it's been a while since I've watched it. Like, years.
I'm not trashing Collazo, though. I'm just saying that people (falsely) thought that he was a world beater or an elite level type of guy based on nothing more than the KO of a shopworn and disinterested Victor Ortiz.
Ortiz could've gotten up if he wanted to. He's just such a mental midget that the first time he was hit with something solid he wanted to play it safe, get counted out, and get that check. I doubt we'll ever see him back in the ring again.
I wasn't basing it only on the Ortiz fight, I was basing in on his other performances in the ring.
Add to that the fact Khan is known to have a weak chin and I thought Collazo would at least drop Khan. Not the other way around, which is why I give full credit to Khan and won't take anything away from him by suggesting his opponent was not class A.
If fight goes the distance then i have no doubt in my mind that Khan would win.
If Khan gets stupid and started to exchange then he'll get countered and Garcia would probably stop him..
So totally depends on which Khan shows up, but 1 thing for sure Angel Garcia would be guns blazing in the press conference and will get under Khan's head and skin.
Garcia was at that fight scouting Khan.
it's a shame Garcia has his dumbass dad representing and speaking for him...he'd have so much more respect...even with his dumbass comments after his loss to Herrera.
Garcia lowblows will be a factor again. Lowblows are no fun.
Khan by UD...but Garcia will have some success counterpunching. People will pay closer attention to that second time around...but also it will be evident that Khan has lost some of that speed...
Khan & Virgil need to realise they can win that fight at a slow pace..Danny will follow it..when really trying to ramp the pace up might actually help Garcia...Khan winning the first few rounds(4-5) throwing barely 40 punches a round would be a very wise tactic. Then Garcia would be forced to maybe start walking him down which is where the reserved energy will come in handy.
I agree that Collazo has been his own worse enemy. Inactivity and unwilling to just take on any fight available, but lets be fair. He should have gotten the nod against Hatton and Berto.
Mosley is a HOF and I already gave massive props to Khan for beating him.
Doesn't mean Collazo is trash or that anyone who picked Collazo to win needs a CT scan. The fact a fighter is beatable doesn't make him trash.
I thought Hatton edged it out every time I watched it, but I'll concede that it's been a while since I've watched it. Like, years.
