What were Ali,SRR,Sugar Ray Leonard,Greb,Armstrong,Joe Louis,Duran,Hearns,Hagler doing at 37??? they sure in hell were not winning titles and on top of the sport
There's a gulf between Flyd and the resumes of the best fighters in history.
The post below on Harry Greb sums it up so everybody can understand what we are dealing with here:
if that's true then holy sht what a warrior, seriously, im in awe
edit: boxrec'd it, and he has a couple of fights 2 days apart, sweet jesus
Seriously? WTF, Hopkins?
Even Schaefer was saying, "he came to fight, he was awkward," stuff like that acknowledging it was a rough fight. If Hopkins is going to be a company man now, follow the lead.
He said Maidana proved the doubters wrong at the press conference.
But straight after the fight he said to Floyd "You won 8 or 9, easy!"
I did think Floyd won 8 rounds in fairness but not easy.
Hopkins was doing the same thing aswell.

He's an ATG, but you can't seriously consider him to be TBE. At least give Maidana some credit. Shit both fighters deserve credit. There's nothing wrong with the fact that Floyd had trouble the other night. It doesn't mean he's not great. Let's just appreciate the fact that that was a fun fight to watch. Enough with the babble from both sides, not just Floyd fans.

... and we can add 2 names to that list: Leo Houck and Jeff Smith.
He fought more HOFers than any other boxer: 16
He defeated more HOFers than any other boxer: 15
He has more wins over HOFers than any other boxer: 33
He also has arguably the best single year ever in boxing: 1919 where he went 45-0... with 10 of those wins coming against HOFers! Just think about it - that's like Floyd Mayweather's entire career crammed into one year!!
IMO Greb has the best resume ever.
I thought it was funnier that Floyd had people in his corner who are so dumb and such spineless shills that they were shouting "easy work" before the decision was read. The rest of the corner is silent and nervous and these idiots shout "easy work."
Hopkins was doing the same thing aswell.

But they all fought the best fighters in their era and never ducked each other because of a promoter.
TBE is nothing more than a catchphrase, it has as much validity as TMT. It's a gimmicky acronym, the kind that is easily memorable to simpletons. It even sounds like TMT, for God's sake.
To actually discuss the idea of Floyd as The Best Ever borders on retarded. You sound like that dude who was shouting TBE into the camera after the interview while Floyd and his team were still deflated after the performance.

the idea that floyd mayweather has a better resume, or is in any way a greater fighter than langford, robinson, armstrong, greb, is laughable.
what the hell are you smoking? i'll take a half ounce.

did kelvis really say this?
Greb was dead and had compiled his almost 300 wins by age 32 and fighting the last 3 years without vision in one of his eyes, all while fighting heavyweights as a middleweight.
So yeah, thats just one example of a reason Floyd isn't the best ever, not even touching on the other names mentioned.
greb was dead :lol1:
i've heard a lot of different stories about when greb lost vision in his eye. it's widely accepted that the initial injury was in a fight with kid norfolk in '21. i know he didn't have it removed until almost the very end.
i think it's exaggerated when people say that he was blind in one eye for several years. he certainly wasn't seeing well after the fight with kid norfolk.
Same posters try to discredit what Hopkins is doing at fvcking 49..tell me who in the hell has been a unified champ at 49...then tell me who has been a unified, lineal champ in 2 divisions at the same damn time period in boxing not to mention at the age of 37
I believe no one has done that... only people who are discrediting mayweather are overly obsessed Pacman fans, not saying there are Mayweather fans who do the same. He is an older man, who will learn to adjust to his age and will come back better or will lose like Hopkins. .. then may come back and do what Hopkins has done... The man is still a great boxer but has like any learning moments.
mayweather did win 7-5
but the fact maidana; a slow plodder, an 18-1 underdog whom kotelnik, khan and alexander already beat/ no where near the top 20 p4p / was a cherrypick that was suppose to go 120-108 ud.. gave someone who calls themself "the best ever" a hard time, fkd him up nd almost won, landed almost identically.. is kind of a joke.. now the clown/circus entrance makes sense now. shtt is a joke
just take a moment nd deadass think about these things for a second
Maidana is not as slow of foot as people say and he's really good at cutting off the ring. That against a 37 year old fighitng for the 3rd time in a year is a daunting task.

what were they doing in their 20's, and in some cases, 30's?
beating prime, all time greats.
what was mayweather doing in his 20's? beating sharmba mitchell :lol1:
give me the top tier prime wins over a light resume that stretches into the late 30's any day.
ray leonard has a short resume. it's one of the very best of all time, and has wins over prime and near prime all time greats.
every one of those fighters has a better resume than mayweather. i'd also pick hearns, leonard, and robinson to knock him out.
what makes him TBE, dog? because you were following boxing while he was alive?
I wonder what you guys think of Ray Robinson getting dominated by a Journeyman Ralph Tiger Jones when he was an 8-1 favourite?
Then again that's only Ray Robinson, the greatest fighter that's ever lived.
yep..................
