The fact that 'TMT' objected to Maidana using the red gloves as well is a clear sign that this is a stunt. Will make the All Access episode a bit more interesting I suppose.

Half of all fights I see now are using Everlast MX. Glove brand and model is something that is settled during negotiations. This is straight up posturing on TMT's part.

Maidana has been wearing everlast mx gloves since his US debut with the exception of the morales fight where he used winning gloves. Possibly no one really checked them, ala Margarito with those wraps.

Everlast MX (The type of glove Maidana is going to use) is known as a punchers glove, and although Reyes gloves are the most famous of punchers gloves, Everlast MX is the most dangerous and holds the least padding in the knuckle area (almost non existent) most of the weight is in the thumb, top of hand, and wrist area. Fact is all the approved gloves for Maidana are Everlast MX & doesn't matter which one he chooses really because they are all designed to have the same damaging effect. Team Mayweather ain't accusing Maidana of tampering!!! He's against him using Everlast MX gloves. Too bad though, it's a go and they have been approved.

I have a pair of unused everlast mx gloves and that is how they are made. They are more so flatter in the knuckle area than even the reyes gloves. I saw the video where chino is trying them on and I could even see the same exact dip in the knuckle area when you make a fist. Floyds team is arguing a set of gloves that the nsac has approved countless times. Heck, cotto used the same gloves against floyd. Floyds team arguing that cottos werent the same but the fact is cottos were 10 oz gloves. Maidana should not be forced to wear anything else.

It's all BS. All an excuse why Maidana will lose the fight. Same with Canelo. TMT, Showtime, Golden Boy made it seemed that Canelo lost to Floyd because he was drained down to 152. the gloves that chino wanted to use was out of the packaging which means (anything could have happened to them) those particular ones was missing padding. the other ones are approved & A ok to go by the commission. (but the original gloves had less padding and were deemed as unacceptable) thats the point of the drama............... They have multiple gloves there, not just one pair. And Floyd's team are not happy about the type of gloves, the ones that were approved by the commission. The ones that failed were just out of the packaging, that was it.
