I just finished watching the final press conference for Mayweather/Maidana and f*ck me was it utterly predictable. It got me thinking about the old Floyd who, while a ****y little sh*t, was certainly far more entertaining with a microphone in front of his face than this new, supposedly mature, "post-prison" Floyd.
It almost seems like the cunt was given a checklist of stupid phrases that he needs to say in every interview he ever does when he got out.
At the end of the day...
And like I said before...
God don't make mistakes...
What else can I say?
We had a tremendous training camp...
(Insert opponent here) is a hell of a fighter...
I've been here before...
I know what it takes...
I'm truly, truly blessed...
...The sport of boxing...
His press conferences have become as boring as Wlad's fights.
Floyd's whole act now is like a WWE gimmick. He's like Hulk Hogan, his career has been a "work" since the Oscar fight. Same script every time.
I would say since he came back with the JMM fight, he was very vulgar and disrespectful to Oscar and Hatton. JMM fight on have all been the same story though.
Marcos Meydana
Ya know.......... *long pause* what else can I say? What else can I say? *pause* this guy-this guy is a true warrior. A guy that I really, I really can't over look this guy.
jayleon love drives me bonkers. it starts with his name, and ends with his essence/soul. everything he's ever done is offensive to me.
i would pay $75 to see him get good boyed.
There has never been a sentiment expressed on these forums with which I agreed more.

:lol1:
I loce the cliche quotes, he couldnt get a bit more eduacted with all that scrizzguap, it's pathetic, at the same time, Floyd is an ATG and I love watching him work, I will cherish every last one of his fights, lol.
I never found him very impressive in front of the mic, he used to be more vulgar but not like it was any better. He just never had that gift to be a really entertaining speaker, however he got the gift to annoy the **** out of people which he has made work overtime for him.
Yes. His most recent All Access is boring and at times cringe worthy. Miss Jackson broke his heart.
I haven't watched the full press conference just the highlights. At least Chino made it interesting.
Floyd: "Listen, Maercus Maydonna is a young hungry lion that I can't overlook. He's improved in his last four fights. He has knockout power in both hands. He defeated Broner and I'm in for big test. You know how I do, it's mayweather promotions, we in Las Vegas, it's all access, coming to you live, May third, Showtime PPV. We're going to find out if Maydonna can solve the Mayvinci code."
...I read it exactly like he talks.
You're likely very right about that. He's going to need to sign better fighters than J'Leon Love if he's going to make it as a promoter, doe.
I miss the old weigh ins, too. Where you could feel the electricity in the air when the guys would face off because they legitimately disliked each other and you never knew if someone was going to throw a punch.
Now it's just smiles and handshakes. We need a 2014 version of Barrera/Morales.

I thought the Oscar build up was quite terrible, actually. One the one hand you had Floyd doing childish bullsh*t like stealing Oscar's bag and bringing a chicken with a medal around it's neck to the stage and on the other you had, well...Oscar.
Love the guy's career and all, but Christ on a stick was he monotonous during press conferences and interviews. He was always talking about tough mean fights and smiling like an idiot while doing it. I get that that's his personality, but there's a disconnect between those two things.
The build-up for Floyd/Hatton was superb, though. Mayweather was at an all time high as far as being a d*ck goes and Hatton played off of it well with his Manc sense of humor. Not to mention the gigantic fanbase Hatton brought to the table to keep things amped.
I thought it was great. Very fresh and new. Perfect mix of the brash, arrogant, undefeated, P4P #1 Villian who "can't lose" against everyone's favourite good guy, the established PPV star that everyone loves and respects. Plus the history they have.
I really enjoyed it. Plus the whole money flaunting thing was brand new and entertaining while it lasted (not very long)
I thought it was a perfect promotion.
I agree though Hatton was my favourite.
i think he's started to see the end of the road financially. he's trying to be like the people he works for. he thinks this type of rhetoric will help him sell the fight, and establish himself as somebody who sells fights down the line.
prefight media is getting tired. i miss the days when don king would very obviously try and get dudes to fight at press conferences :lol1:. now that's what you call promoting.

His press conferences are boring for sure..
but nothing is as boring as Wlad's fights!
The Oscar and Hatton build ups were the only ones I found very entertaining.
It's been much of the same show since he came back in 2009 from Marquez onward.
I suppose the Mosley build up was decent aswell.
