best part, he was never scared for his fighters, never let thrm duck anyone. bc the fighter believed as well as the trainer, that he WAS LITERALLY the best fighter in the world nd without a doubt or an excuse, WILL destroy any nd all challenges in the way
My understanding was that Cus avoided Liston for a while. To his credit Patterson did fight Liston.

Just went to boxrec and there was no duck. He fights a trilogy with Ingemar Johansonn (the number 1 contender), then takes a tune-up fight and then takes Liston, the new number 1 contender.

Still I remember hearing/reading that Cus delayed fighting Liston. He may have done so but that delay would be only have been a few months, and in this day, where belt holders never fight each other in order to unify the division I can't hold that against Cus or Floyd.
Cus is to boxing what Zordon was to the Power Rangers. Like someone said, this is boxing gold; great find. The way he would break it down is just a thing of beauty, very knowledgeable individual.
RIP Cus.
Cus was such a genius in the game, and he said it right to ali's face.
Thanks for posting. Cus was a legend.
Thanks for uploading this clip! What a lot of people don't see is how close Ali & Cus actually were. Cus had been to a number of Ali's training camps. Great to see the banter between them, that in itself is legendary.
