Why do people keep on saying Alvarado should stick and move? Alvarado will be like 10-15 pounds heavier than JMM. He needs to pressure him and fight a close inside fight like Katsidis did, who gave JMM hell. Also the same way Alvarado beat Herrera.
Bradley barely beat JMM by outboxing him, and Alvarado is no where near the boxer Bradley is.
This^^^
And Alvarado can box but he's not very good at it. He's far better brawling. He ouboxed Rios but come on. Rios makes Mayorga look like Rigondeaux.
yea alvarado might be bigger and younger but the difference in class is huge, jmm is an atg
do you really think alvarado can ever even be a title holder?
I understand your point, and its very valid, but i think if alvarado tries to use his size and bully jmm, it will allow jmm the openings to counter, and thats the only thing jmm has going for him is the ability to counter...
Jmm always struggles with guys that keep distance like john, norwood, floyd, bradley,,,, put jmm in with come forward guys and jmm chews them up
Boxers always look bad against other boxers. The superior boxer should win regardless, which JMM would be by miles.
the fade in Alvarado was more evident than JMM
JMM didn't look too bad vs Bradley whereas Alvarado didn't even look himself vs Provodnikov...he just got his ass kicked straight up
who's to say the guy has much left? i wouldn't be surprised if that whiny piss drinker makes this an easy fight
u gotta look at the choices of opponents tho.. marquez was facing freaking bradley who is not know to be a power puncher. mike was thrown in with the russian tiger. mike lost that fight purely on ruslan being too strong for him to handle, it has nothing to do with how poorly mike performed, etc. to me i think both of them are shot LOL.

JMM hasn't beat anyone of note above 140 besides PAC. Likar Ramos and Fedchenko? Alvarado is easily better than both.
Alvarado has a chance if he's not shot. It's actually an interesting fight. JMM might have had a better chance against Provodnikov oddly IMO.

It's likely. Alvarado can box and bang, do a little bit of both. He's tall at like 5' 10"? He has longer reach, and he is bigger, probably 158-160 on FN. I actually see it in favor of Alvarado and don't really know why so many people think JMM will win with no possibility of MA winning. I felt the same way about Marquez-Bradley, stylistically TB was a bad fight for JMM but I scored it a draw. Maybe this fight will be yet another Draw/controversial fight. I think it's either 50-50 or Alvarado wins. I would love to be wrong however.
i seriously think the wars vs Rios and the beatdown against Ruslan will make Alavarado a shell of his former self
as if marquez hasnt been in any war himself..
i seriously think the wars vs Rios and the beatdown against Ruslan will make Alavarado a shell of his former self
That may well be true, and i think any aggressive come-forward fighter could beat Alvardo, but with jmm's style, alvardo doesnt have to worry about nonstop pressure, and he can relax and just keep jmm at bay with his length and jab and will a close decision...
Im not too sure how much jmm has left in the tank,, vs bradley he seemed not to be able to pull the trigger that much... I think age has caught up to jmm
I agree with you mate, I think that fight was his last hurrah!
just like pac vs marg. pac got the W, but he fought the prime out of him in that fight. marquez gave it his all in that 4th rematch with manny.
Alvardo is gonna beat jmm, if he doesnt get screwed by judges or he is completely shot
Alvardo has the size, length and jab to keep jmm at bay..
Jmm excels vs guys that come straight forward ala manny, diaz, katsidis,
Factor in that jmm is 40 years, and i think Alvardo has a great chance if he stands on the outside..
Its funny that a lot of people crapped on this fight. I think its a 50/50 fight. While a fresh and young Marquez would easily beat an Alvarado, the Marquez that will fight Alvarado is a 40 year old guy. I actually think Alvarado has a great chance of winning with the right game plan. Make Marquez lead, and use the jab. If he does that and sets up a nice combo and gets a knock down or two he will win this fight.
pac ruin him.. although he got the ko in the 4th fight, marquez was ruin, mental and physcially LOL.
