Couldn't phase Mayweather then how could Maidana?
It's real simple, game plan.
Canelo yes, is the higher skilled fighter between him and Maidana BUT IF Maidana goes with the bull-rush game plan (which is pretty much his game plan for all fights) THEN that is how he is going to stand a chance.
In hindsight, Canelo lost the fight in training camp.
It's obviously proven to still be a long-shot, but I'm just clarifying this for the pessimists!
the fights have nothing to do with one another
Maidana has a much better chance than Alvarez did
but even at that, 0 isn't any better than 0, so it doesn't matter
Maidana will lose every rd and might get stopped
he's just smaller and not as slow as Alvarez
We were expecting canelo to go on the defence against a non stop fighter in el perro instead canelo was on the offence and Angulo didn't do sht. Not saying the something will happen here but we might see similar result in a shutout.
1) I wasn't trying to be offensive, and my little rant wasn't directed so much at you as at those who keep saying stuff like "Maidana's aggression, awkwardness etc. will give Floyd fits". No, it won't. Floyd is not Broner.
2) You are right, Maidana doesn't have a better option. But that doesn't mean this gameplan will work. Bullrush or not, I don't see Maidana as a bigger threat than Canelo.
I never said the bull rush game plan is going to work either, I said you can't compare what Maidana is going to do (or atleast try to do) versus what Canelo did (or lack there of.)
Why are you trying to post knowledge?? you are a noob..didnt even know the damn Ring had a title and didn know what a unified, lineal or undisputed champion was...so shut up,listen and learn since you clearly do not know sh1t about boxing
You got a guys photoshoot in your signature, you're a ******. Straight up. Gayest **** I've ever seen. You're a joke to me.
I have no problem reminding you how gay that **** is every time I have to see it.
Talk about embarrassing. ****ing pathetic.
Yeah, would you care elaborate what better option Maidana has? since you walked in acting like a knock off Bert Sugar.
Is he going to out box Floyd? The floor is yours..

he's only chance is to tear into him in the first round or two, trusting in his power and unorthodox style. If he hasn't hurt mayweather in the first three rounds ... floyd will have seen all he needs to and the fights over ... maidana will be forced into a defensive shell as floyd picks him off with ease.

That's how he plans on dealing with the best defensive fighter in the world? Bullrush him? If only boxing (and life in general) was that simple...
Imagine if Rigo and Kiko Martinez were about to fight, and Kiko said "I'm going to beat him by bullrushing him". People would laugh at him, and with good reason.

You might be right, all I'm saying is IF he goes in there with the game-plan we expect him to then that alone is giving him a better chance than what Canelo did. Or anyone else who tried to get cute with Floyd.
Now that I can agree with. Canelo tried to fight Floyd's fight, which was extremely dumb, but if Maidana can take it to Floyd like Cotto did, despite him still clearly losing, he could make things interesting.
I know the strategy is different, but most people would just say that Maidana switching trainers is what would give him a better shot against the likes of DA and Amir Khan were he to get rematches with them, but the fact of the matter is that Maidana has problems with guys with good to great boxing skills, no matter who trains him. I'm looking forward to this fight no matter which way it goes, but he won't do any better than Canelo did imo.

No, I'm saying the game-plan is different so people saying that a bigger, smarter, stronger Canelo not being able to touch Floyd doesn't apply in this case because the strategy will be different.
I dunno where the **** Robert Garcia came into this from, you guys are getting off track here.

They'll just say "Maidana's different under Robert Garcia", although that won't make an ounce of a difference against Floyd. Maidana couldn't phase Alexander or a war torn Erik Morales, but some people think he'll do better against arguably the best boxer of our generation?

If Maidana couldn't phase Alexander how does he phase Floyd.
It will be a boring shutout, worse than Guerrera.
I know you don't want to believe that because you're going to pay $70 to watch it but there's no other way it can go.
Well actually I'm not a recluse like you so the sheer thought of you saying $70 dollars goes to show youre assuming I'm either a.) buying this by myself, b.) watching it by myself, c.) both. OR D.) the funniest one of them all I'm paying $70 while a bunch of people mooch off of me and drink all my beer and I'm stuck putting the bill. Yeah, that's not happening.
And you're wrong on all four accounts.
Now that THAT is out of the way, let's discuss your point.
You're right Maidana couldn't do **** against Devon and he may (no PUN intended) not touch Floyd either.
But to compare what he did in a fight two years ago against a completely different guy and assume that will be the outcome of a fight two years later with another completely different boxer is just asinine man.
That's the most narrow minded logic you could apply.
If Maidana couldn't phase Alexander how does he phase Floyd.
