So..... there's Canelo/Pac rumors now

Maybe if this were Pac a few years ago, I could see it. But this version of Pac, which Roach has acknowledged doesn't have the same pop at lower weights, would be in trouble. I think Pac would have better success going down in weight to see if his remaining power is indeed more effective. He wouldn't be able to get Canelo out of there so he'd be in for 12 rounds of trying to not get caught and stay mobile.

Gotta give you credit. you are at least calling Canelo the same things you did before and after the floyd fight and are not changing just because the idea of this fight has been floated. What I heard now is Canelo wants to pull out of his fight with Lara so he can fight Pacman instead. He wants Pac in December and wants to get ready to lose weight slowly to make 152, Pac's eye will be healed by then. Looks like Nelo wants that big payday, he will get more than when he fought with Floyd, anytime you fight Floyd you get peanuts, when you fight Pacman you get paid more for some reason (except for Cotto he got paid more when he fought Floyd). But Rios and Clottey made more fighting Pacman than Guerroro, Ortiz did. Also Canelo got chump change when he foguht Floyd he brought more than half the crowd there and the ppv. Man this is crazy. Canelo is going to destroy Pacman, but this fight will be huge, the Mexicans will buy it up anytime a Mexican star goes against Pacquiao they salivate they will get another Marquez vs. Pacquiao 4 rerun only thing is Pacman might seriously be damaged in his fight. But this is great for Canelo it will revitalize his career after suffering his first loss to Mayweather in an uneventful fight.

Though this is an exciting fight I don't want to see it yet. Besides, there's a lot going on for this to be a realistic proposition: 1. Canelo is up against Lara. How the hell do you look past Lara? 2. Pac is looking to go down to 140 as he ran out of opponents at 147. Going down instead of going up says a lot of the mindset of Pac at this stage in his career. No more punishing fights with much larger men. 3. Canelo's having a hard time squeezing into 154. He will most probably suffer a loss soon making 154. 4. Canelo's not even a champ right now. No incentive in that than the money. At least not for me as a fan. 5. Canelo got whooped by Floyd. I actually finished my post after. But as mentioned I think he can make more money off of Pac for longer than Sergio. Selling out Sergio is an investment for GGG...Sergio has one or two more fights left that's it. Pac could fight another 2 years vs some lighter punchers/careful matchmaking. I could see the cold war ending for something like Martinez - Canelo... Gbp would like the idea of Canelo becoming the champ at 160 and Arum could add even more hype to GGG as he'd have the arguable number 1 or 2 vs a huge name. martinez has 1 fight left on his contract after cotto, that fight can be made next year without the need to end the cold war, if oscar and arum are going to offer something to each other it has to be something big... floyd is out of question since he is with haymond...

Pac would be insane to take this fight. There's a reason why he didn't look the same after the Margarito fight. Margs beat the prime off Pac.
