so why exactly is Max Kellerman allowed to speak at all on HBO? obviously I'm not a fan and I just don't get it at all. it's really beyond me.
at this point I'd rather HBO get Bob Papa back.
Roy is terrible. People seemed to complain about Lewis but Lewis wasn't that bad. Roy seems like he isn't even paying attention sometimes like he got called on in class.
The typical exchange is like:
Jim: "Roy tell us what you see in the replay"
Roy: "Well there... As you see he threw a punch there. Those punches hurt. Nobody like to get punched like that. But he reacted.".
Jim: "...Thank you Roy"
I was reading that in Roy and Lampleys voice pmsl!
Have you ever laced up a pair of gloves???
You obviously haven't if you think Max if versed in the finer nuances of the sport. Roys analysis is always spot on, and reflects what is about to happen.
Roy is bias. And although a great fighter in his day--he adds no insight. Kellerman is a fanboy who doesn't understand what it's like to be in the ring. I think for entertainment Lampley is the voice of boxing, and merchant was great before he went senile.
Bottom line is: the hbo guys are better than that lame mma-esque broadcast on showtime. Which is a shame because they have the more interesting fights. (And Al Bernstein will always strike me as a bottom tier analyst. Too many Friday nights for Al).
QUOTE=Master Splinter;14446803]You guys are straight up morons. Roy is completely inarticulate and his analysis of fights are terrible. He's awful and at times a flat out embarrassment to HBO. Max is on point with his analyses and insights regarding the finer details of what's taking place in fight and the the boxing game as whole. Sad that you guys miss so much of what's actually taking place.

IMO it's Kellerman who keeps Lampley in check whenever he goes over-board with his comments.
Having Roy on or off the broadcast team wouldn't make a difference, I'll remember him for the infamous OOOOOOOOOOooooooooooo that he screamed out when Pacquiao got ice'd.
