Sorry to add another thread into the Pacquiao craze, but I'm interested in what you guys think.
Pac looked a bit sluggish in the first 5 rounds last night, but turned things around from round 6 on and looked much better.
That being said, he was a lot more hesitant than we're used to seeing (I noticed he didn't do the double jab feint that led to the Marquez KO), he's a bit slower in the hand speed department, and he couldn't get the great in-and-out movement/crazy angles going until later in the fight. DISCLAIMER: I'm not saying he's done, finished, etc. but there's definitely a bit of a decline here.
So, with the Pac-JMM V fight basically only awaiting a JMM victory over Alvarado, what do you guys think? Who wins?
this is a really hard fight for pacquiao to win. jmm was always the better boxer but pacquiao always had the power. now jmm seems to have the power edge too.
this will be the fight we really see where pacquiao is at. he knows what marquez is capable of doing to him. the fact that bradley was able to hurt him doesn't bode well for him.
JMM always had the power:lol1: This must be Memo.
Marquez ruined pac. Pac fights so hesitant now and cautious. His only advantage over JMM is aggressiveness and odd angles. With out that, he's too predictable. JMM will pick him apart again; he might even land the home run.
JMM wins 8-4 imo. Close but clear decision.
The bolded is the same way I feel. Pac's angles, punch output, and aggression are what caused JMM trouble and without it I'm not sure if Pac can beat him.
Pac was beating the crap out of Marquez until he got careless and lunged chin first into the perfect punch.
The only thing that's changed since them is that he's gotten more careful.
Saying this as a pac fan. No. To be honest I like pac's chances better against mayweather.
Marquez knows pac like the back of his hand and marquez has the power and mindset to Knock pac out. Mayweather does not have the power or the mondset to KO pac and I think pac's style will be a problem for mayweather's defense 1st style.
Anything can happen between those two guys and I will tell you that based on both of their last performances they are a shell of their old selves. I'll pass on the 5th fight.
Bold prediction. Any particular reason you feel that way?
Just because of how dire I think his situation *ACTUALLY* was when he did score that KO vs Pac, how he looked in there vs Bradley (with no reason to fear Bradley's power), and quite simply his age. Given the age gap I just think he's falling off quite a bit faster than Pac. I also think Pac is taking way too long to get into war mode when he gets in the ring these days (though he still does pretty well before he's 'on'). I suspect Pac will be very wary of a KO shot, but he'll still grind JMM down and take him out without getting desperate for the KO.
Basically, I think JMM is at the non-linear decline point of his career, and masking it well(ish).
If Pac comes out like he did last night hes gonna risk more than a loss. Marquez win by KO early like last time but it all depends on which Pac shows up.
That being said I dont think Pacquiao can stop Marquez.
I don't think so. I don't think Pac is confident in his chin yet. The punches that Bradley landed seemed to really bother him. I'm used to Pac getting hit with a big shot, pounding on his chin and coming back even harder. Last night, he was cautious. It's not that bad though, I guess. He's not going to be running face first into punches anymore.

And this is exactly why I want to see the fight. We will truly see how much Pac has left in the tank
I don't really need to see a 5th Pac vs JMM fight, but if it happens, and it is Pac's next fight or the one after, Pac wins. I'll even go one further, and say without a hint of irony or troll that he'll get a KO between the 5th and 10th round. That prediction is as much about where JMM is as it is about Pacquiao. JMM should just worry about Alverado for now. Alverado is like a Rios but with more craft and adaptibilty, and that doesn't necessarily favour an aging counterpuncher as much as some people around here seem to think (unless Alverado was ruined from his wars with Rios and Provodnikov).

I want to see jmm-manny 5..
They will always be close and competitive fights, and if manny can keep upright, i think he could pull off a close decision....

I can hear the argument that the fight could be dull, but I know they bring out the demon in each other. I think I'd be leaning a bit towards JMM in a rematch, it would all depend on how Pac approaches the fight
