I thought boxing was about doing damage to your opponent if you compare clottey's face to pac's you would see that pacquaio looks like the beaten one...while Clottey's face looked untouched, yes yes pacquaio looked dominating but most of his shots were weak and missed while clottey threw the more accurate and damaging shots, even one of the espn said that clottey did more damage than pacquaio.to be clottey is still undeafeted he was robbed against cotto, magarito and he was robbed against pac as well.

Who me? You're the one who quoted me and then proceeded to say nearly the same thing as I did. As in facial blemishes/cuts are meaningless in the scoring.
No. I didn't quote you.
You are the one who quoted me saying damage is part of the scoring criteria, which it is not.
But you've just said it's not in your last setance there so again not entirely sure where you're still lost.
Please sir, would you educate me on what an effective blow is and what an ineffective blow is, and then please explain what makes one effective blow better than another in the professional ring. Click-click-click-click-click LOL........... ..............Rockin':boxing:
Clean affective punches are punches are exactly that, clean, solid blows.
Inaffective punches are shots that aren't landed clean or solid.
Obviously like I've stated multiple times, clean affective punches are likely to cause damage (Although not always)
But again, like I've stated from the start and which you quoted me disputing, damage is not a scoring criteria, fights are not scored on damage.
This is the professional criteria for scoring. Not Amateur.
LOL, at least the 'punch drunk' guys will know how to score a professional boxing match............. Rockin':boxing:
And how's that then by having damage as a scoring criteria despite the fact it isn't? And that's factual.
Clean affective punching is a criteria, those are likely to cause damage (although not always) considering they are clean...and affective.
It's not difficult to grasp.
There are four objective scoring criteria. Damage isn't one of them.
A bunch of punch counters in here, maybe you guys could replace those clickers that they use in the amateurs. Go to your local amateur club and get involved, they can never have too many really good punch counters around those kinds of places.......... Rockin':boxing:
Meanwhile you can perhaps learn basic reading comprehension because it's quite clear you're struggling here.
the best punch.... as in the one that does the most damage?
You're probably correct though. Knowing as many ex-fighters that I do certainly backs up your assumption that boxing is, never has and never will be, about damage..................Rockin':stupid:
Walmart greeters don't count . . . . Just cause they gave you a beating doesn't mean they know what they are talking about
A bunch of punch counters in here, maybe you guys could replace those clickers that they use in the amateurs. Go to your local amateur club and get involved, they can never have too many really good punch counters around those kinds of places.......... Rockin':boxing:
Yeah those punch counters can stand next to punch drunks.. every gym and boxing site needs one.. sure Rock... "Glurp Glurp".. "I'm drowning in punches"..."I'm punch drunk"
Just because a fighter has a marked up face, it does not mean he was the most damaged. Pacquiao has always been one to get marked up or cut. Pacquiao damaged Clottey more to the body then anything Clottey could conjure up. It was a comprehensive win.
Ts is confused, when the "HBO" team mention they gave a fighter a round because they felt they did more damage they only resort to that when it's a,closely active round and it's hard to split them... There are many factors in fights for scoring in different scenarios.
However, Pacquiao did admit that Clottey was one of the hardest punchers he has ever faced in the ring besides Miguel Cotto. Check the source below at 3:02 of this video.
Why must you be so sensitive?
Read my posts in this thread again. I've already stated what you just did............. Rockin':boxing:
Right but you've not said anything.
Damage isn't a scoring criteria, that's a fact.
Damage has nothing to do with bruises cuts and swelling. But damage does have everything to do with how the forces of each blow are excepted by the 2 combatants.
You're talking purely amateur boxing, I'm talking professional boxing. In amteurs a kd scores the blow landed, one click of the clicker. In the pros it's a two point round. Will I also need to refresh you of the 2 different scoring systems.......... Rockin'
That's not what I'm saying.
Where exactly are you getting lost?
Damage isn't a scoring criteria. That again is a fact.
If someone's face is bruised and the others isn't they don't get any extra points.
Obviously cleaner harder punches are part of the scoring criteria (clean affective punching) and they are likely to cause damage. But not always.
Landing clean hard punches that intend for damage, that's part of the criteria obviously. But damage itself is not.
Amateur boxing is completely different and nothing to do with anything I've been saying but just still being so condescending anyway.
ok, whatever you say................ Rockin':boxing:
In boxing a bloody nose, black eye, bloody lip, etc. are all looked at the same as in football when the participant gets grass stains on his uniform. It means nothing to the judges or the score of the contest.............. Rockin':boxing:
What's with the sarcasm?
Damage is not a scoring criteria and that's a fact. There are 4 scoring criteria and damage isn't one of them.
It might sway a judge, right or wrong.
The guy losing is likely to have more damage.
But, it's not a part of the scoring. The scoring is objective and has 4 criteria and again damage isn't one of them.
it's too bad Clottey is fighting JMW now, would love to see Clottey and Bradley go "head to head"

F***367;cking Napier! You have some great one liners in bad threads consistently.
Once in a life talents don't get knocked out the way Manny did. Just sayin.
So Roy Jones Jr. wasn't a once in a lifetime talent then, right?
