I have no idea why people are going on about this being a typical crap Arum undercard. They must be high. Every single fight on this card should be competitive. No one should be more than a 2 to 1 favorite. Fighter styles will also mesh well with each other. I doubt we'll see a dud. Don't give a fuck about there not being any big name as long as fights are competitive.
The same criticisms I have of the Pacquiao Bradley undercard apply to that for Mayweather Maidana. That undercard also lacks significant fights. Broner-Molina is a mismatch intended as a comeback fight for Broner. Khan-Collazo is a fight that could be competitive, but which is not very meaningful. As for Periban-Love, meh. A fight I'd consider significant and competitive is something like Vazquez-Abril. Of course, you'd want to price the PPV at something like -$65.00 to get somebody to watch that.
Gotcha. Vazquez Abril would be a guaranteed snoozer though, not really PPV material. The casuals that make up the numbers have never heard of any of these guys, or probably of Matthysse, Garcia etc. They're just waiting for the main event, but if you serve them up an exciting brawl, a few might get hooked. I remember a few years back non boxing fan friends of mine really got into Arce vs Vazquez, way more than Pac Mosley main event.

I'm guilty of only half glancing at the undercard and assuming it would be sh*t. I think it's the combination of less recognizable names and the history of past undercards at Pac fights. Hmm, I'll actually try to take a closer look at he card before the fight (if I get time).
Well the Floyd Maidana undercard has a grand total of 1 top 10 ranked contender, fringe contender Broner. Neither Khan not Collazo is top 10 at welter. So you don't necessarily mean significant, more like name brand

While the fights appear competitive and potentially exciting, there are no real significant fights. I want fights to not just be exciting but also carry meaning.

"In Marcos Maidana, Floyd Mayweather may be in for his toughest opponent ever,....I give Floyd a lot of credit for stepping up to the plate and testing himself once again. He is a true warrior" said Richard Schaefer

My mother in law is going to have the fight at her house she's a Pac fan. I will most likely be in the back yard drinking some cold ones with my brother in laws till the main event happens. I wasn't even planning on watching this card but my wife is twisting my arm to go out to her mom's house this weekend to watch it. No way was I going to pay for this s**t event.
You know whats funny about this thread?
Bob Arum himself told us the undercard was crap.
He told us he didnt give a **** about it being crap, cause he knows fans dont give a **** about it being crap.
But OP is here telling us its great.
Clearly, Bob was right.
I can see competive fights on Friday night fights. If I'm paying for this, co main event should be a good 1. And that is not the case. No star power at all. Nobody gives a damn bout beltran.

true..............
maybe one of these fights on ppv undercard and then stack it with top tier championship fights .
like it or not top wank is robbing us .
i am buyiny the fight anyway but the undercard is not by any means world class !!!!!!!!
Yeah, that's sort of how I'd describe it. The're like three ESPN2 main event fights.I don't think "ESPN level" should be used in a derogatory manner though. Everyone has fought on ESPN and there's a ton of great ESPN fights. They're just up and comers that haven't made their names yet.
I agree ESPN has very good fights sometimes but both of those names haven't really impressed or done anything really well lately to be on a PPV undercard. Collazo is a good example he was on Fox but he had a solid win his fight is now worth watching on a PPV undercard.
