ESPN are stepping it up they are talking to Wlad to show his Fights In America. Hope it happens.
According to Dan Rafael
ESPN is really in talks with Klitschko? Cause that would be AWESOME!!!!!
Dan Rafael, King Fight Freak (1:01 PM)
Yes, the network really is. Whether they make a deal I am not sure. I hope ESPN does.
You're an idiot. He's always been pro klitchko. The only negative comments are from his most recent fight against povetkin. Other than that, he's been a champion of everything K2 promotions
Canelo: No amateur background, pre-prime, rather limited and over-hyped
Cotto: FADED, Floyd ducked him when he was prime. Had been stopped twice before but Floyd wouldn't go for the KOu
The Ghost: blown-up featherweight
Victor Ortiz: A joke, KOed by faded Collazo
Shane Mosley: OLD, age 40, Floyd ducked him when he was prime
Floyd just went for the decision wins over even faded opponents, except when he saw the chance to sucker-punch the childlike Victor Ortiz.
Wlads last 5 fights:
Povetkin: Prime, WBA titleholder, former amateur multiple Gold medal winner in world tournaments including 2004 Olympics
Pianeta: Prime, undefeated, never been down as amateur or as a pro
Wach: Prime, undefeated, never been down as amateur or as a pro
TT: One of the strongest and most durable HWs, awkward southpaw style
Mormeck: former world champion. Not a good opponent, but Klitschko KOed him easily.
Floyd just went for the decision wins over even faded opponents, except when he saw the chance to sucker-punch the childlike Victor Ortiz.
Ortiz and the ghost beat Berto in close wars which captured the hearts of boxing fans casual and hardcore fans,,they earned their shots
Canelo is better than anybody Wlad has ever faced even to the naked eye of a casual fan
Cotto is an elite fighter that pushed floyd to the limit and is still a great fighter shot or not he wouldn't lose a one sided battle against anyone at even this stage in his career
Shane Mosley beat margacheato the invincible...probably earned a shot at floyd more than anybody after that..he turned boxing upside down with that win
Remind me who wlads last 5 beat to earn shots at him again.. I agree Tony Thompson is a decent heavyweight but the guy looks like he's fighting underwater he had no chance and Wlad cherry picked him..how long is he going to ride that win whilst pulverisING the likes of leapai

Rafael worships Klitschko.
Search for "Chase (Dallas, Tx)" in the link and you'll find the above.
That doesn't mean he's a Klitschko worshiper. That was about Vitali and the thread is about Wladimir.
Just because somebody can understand the Klitschko brilliance doesn't automatically make them fanboys.
So "THE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE DAMN WORLD" has to fight on ESPN??? that is a damn insult to boxing
As long as it's the main ESPN then it's a positive for the sport. If it's on ESPN2/ESPN3 nobody will notice or care.
Did you guys see Povetkin's fight against Marco Huck, aka Marco 'I'm never in a boring fight' Huck? He made that fight awful with all of his clinching and his ducking below the waist. I'd blame the last fight more on Povetkin than on Wlad.
The fight was unwatchable, both fighters are to blame in my opinion.
I agree about Povektin initiating some of the clinching (and did nothing on the inside), but Wlad was literally mounting him.
Also the referee is to blame, he shouldn't have allowed the fight to become so unwatchable to be almost ludicrous (as Mike Tyson would say :D ).
Wlad's last fight was a crime against boxing. And Povetkin wanted to fight, therefore he has no excuse. He should have been DQ'd.
that fight was dreadful and wlad could have easily been dq'd but I dont understand why so many think he fights that way in all his fights. there's only been a small handful of his fights with excessive holding
Would be funny if ESPN used the "on air talent" they have now to do the blow by blow of the fights.
The Klitari on here would have a melt down if Teddy Atlas was commentating.:lol1:

Chase (Dallas, Tx)
Hey Dan,Do you think I'm crazy saying that Vitali Klitschko wrecks almost all heavyweights in history at his best? People think I'm insane when I say he would be competitive or beat most ATG's like Joe Louis, Ali, Foreman and Holmes. To make a still very, very good Lennox Lewis almost look one dimensional on short notice solidifies my position on this. I just want to know how you feel about it so I know If I'm fooling myself or not. Thanks.
Dan Rafael (2:04 PM)
I agree with you.

Canelo: No amateur background, pre-prime, rather limited and over-hyped
Cotto: FADED, Floyd ducked him when he was prime. Had been stopped twice before but Floyd wouldn't go for the KO

What are you smoking man?. must be good stuff.
Povketin hasn't done much in the pros and the fight was unwatchable anyway. Wach and Pianeta simply don't belong at world level. Thompson is the only half decent opponent Wlad has fought since Haye.
If I'm espn and I have the chance to show wlad fight or a fight like roman gonzalez v Yasegashi (sp) I would show the little guys. Much less exspensive and much better TV fight.
Most boxing fans don't even know those two, at least casual sports fans have heard of Wlad. Flyweights will never sell.
You're an idiot. He's always been pro klitchko. The only negative comments are from his most recent fight against povetkin. Other than that, he's been a champion of everything K2 promotions
Exactly. If anything he is Klitschko's #1 fan. He was even in their documentary.
Floyd may be boring, but he's obviously very skilled. There's nothing skillful about Wlad's holding and fouling.
And Floyd has fought MUCH better opponents than Wlad.
When Floyd boxes it's masterful
Wlad? Nothing skillful about it.
Lol. Haters gonna hate, I suppose.
Floyd may be boring, but he's obviously very skilled. There's nothing skillful about Wlad's holding and fouling.

I'd sooner watch Roman Gonzalez vs. Yasegashi than watch Floyd run and pitty-pat for a decision win over another overmatched opponent. MUCH less expensive and much better TV fight.
Overmatched opponents?
Let's look at his past opponents:
Canelo: World champion when they fought
Cotto: world champion when they fought and future HOFamer
The Ghost: 2 times world champion
Victor Ortiz: World champion when they fought
Shane Mosley: World champion when they fought and future HOFamer
Wlads last 5 fights:
Povetkin: "regular champ"
Pianeta: ranked outside the top 15 when they fought
Wach: Ranked outside the top 15 when they fought
TT: top 10 now, didn't have a single top 15 win to his name either of the times Wlad fought him
Mormeck: inactive cruiserweight who was ranked outside the top 15.
I really don't think you should talk about "overmatched" opponents when comparing Floyd and Wlad.
I'd sooner watch Roman Gonzalez vs. Yasegashi than watch Floyd run and pitty-pat for a decision win over another overmatched opponent. MUCH less expensive and much better TV fight.
you are entitled to your opinion. but if espn got the chance to show a floyd fight they would in a heartbeat because he gets ratings, which is the name of the game.
while you and some others love wlad, most of the US fans do not. You are not man enough to admit this but his last 2 fights on HBO were horrible. He was just as bad as the opponents. That is the only reason he is even available for ESPN to negotiate with.
As I've said to you many times before your anger should be directed at the mainstream and diehard fans who have made the decision not to tune in when wlad fights.
