Kovalev is a real fighter. This is what I like to see as a real hardcore fan of boxing, fighters fighting anyone for peanuts. F*ck those who talk about PPV and all that crap, including Kathy Duva, talking about Kovalev on PPV and sh*t. F*ck that, Kovalev will forever be a real fighter, fighting for lesser money, for us real hardcore fans that be watching Marquez-Vazquez on repeat.
Do you go to work for peanuts and think its cool??? if this is true he is an idiot and will be broke as fvck
NBC Sports license fees are supposed to be around $100K and a lot more money is made from the gate. Looks reasonable to me.
talkin about Agnew's purse of 40k to be back on NBC, that seems like a lot. Especially when seeing how much Judah and Rosado made on there
that's big money by NBC Standards

I'm not a Russian speaker (beyond the few words that you just kinda pick up like drinking salutations) but so far as I've been able to understand Kovalev fought for literally no money up until the Lonnie B fight with anything he woulda made going to pay Klimas for the accomodation and training costs incurred whilst Sergei was in the states.
I've no idea about subsequent fights, but he was certainly B side against some of the fighters since (Clev without a doubt, Campillo possibly). The only other info I have is that (per the Kovalboxer website) Kovalev actually ended up taking a substantial hit to his own purse when Agnew doubled his asking price late in negotiations.
So yeah..Kovalev could and probably should be making better money, but hopefullly now the HBO deal's in place he should find something coming his way (and dammit with Missus Kovalev -Natalyia? the hot chick from ringside - apparently expecting in Sept. he needs that money to start coming in).
According to Rick Glasser, in his last fight at least, he made more than Agnew.
@M_RagingBabe Not even close, Agnew and his promoter are getting 240,000!!! In the 375,000 range for Kovalev!!!— Rick Glaser (@RickGlaser1) March 30, 2014
@M_RagingBabe @BoxingEnquirer Real as a heart attack! Plus if Agnew looses, guaranteed another fight on NBCSN by Main Events for 40,000.— Rick Glaser (@RickGlaser1) March 30, 2014

Bbbbuuut he's another overhyped HBO face first brawler who cherry picks bums and doesn't want to step up his competition and fight someone with a pulse!
......... Oh he doesn't deserve to fight lineal champ Adonis Stevenson though, either... Until he faces better competition!
