And I don't think he should, Jr's best chance in my opinion is to come forward, smother and push GGG to the ropes, then try to work the body.
If he stays on the outside he'll eat too much leather, GGG is faster and probably a better boxer, I think he should push the fight on the inside and make his size count.
He's too inactive to do that, he just covers up and does nothing a lot of the time. Golovkin should beat the **** out of him.
come forward and use his size is all well and good but you shouldn't follow a puncher. it's probably jnr's best shot alright ... but i still don't see it working. GGG is simply a better boxer
On the front foot he is. If Jr can back him up then we'll see what he's made of.

I agree, he will come forward and use his size.
And he will promptly get his face broken again.
Well we will see, it's going to be entertaining to say the least.
Have to disagree on that one. Stevens may have more impressive KO's but he's a much smaller man and Chavez can crack.
Don't underestimate JR's heart man. I agree with the criticism of him, but he has balls and a chin. He inherited that from his father, and I don't think he's going to back down from GGG at all. I think he's going to stand there and bang with him and it will be very entertaining.

I think Stevens hits harder than Chavez. Chavez has size behind his shots more than he has power. He has to wear you down with that size. I don't expect his single shots to bother Golovkin, and once he feels GGG's power he'll end up trying to box and land single shots, which won't work at all.

He's better at stopping bums than Chavez, so looks to have better power. That was his rep since day one, that's what had Dirrell running all night and getting banned from the network, and he's still knocking out them bums quick like.
No not really.
Chavez was knocking everyone out at that level aswell.
I think Jr's biggest problem with be dealing with the GGG jab. Whenever Vera used it he was able to get off. Lee has always had a weak jab. Sergio's jab worked well on Jr.
Right but the point is on what basis does Stevens punch harder?
Because he's knocked out some bums?
I highly doubt Stevens would knock all of those guys out. I actually doubt he knocks barely any of them out.
I didn't say that Chavez is a devastating puncher.

GGG is a highly technical power puncher who doesn't have to commit to punches to land with paralyzing power. This isn't some guy who fought nobody and now he's big. He has a strong Amateur pedigree, and one of the strongest offenses out there currently. Reminds me of Kostya Tszyu not many people gave him respect for a minute then he mopped up everyone in the division... I expect the same here.
What I mean by highly technical is this: he is a boxer, who happens to have ridiculous power.
This isn't some guy who just hits hard, he is a punch and get hit less then the the other guy and that's what makes him.... what's crazy is how many fanboys that come on here that don't understand how technical he is then start saying he's just a power puncher. He's an offensive genius and you guys make it seem like if you're not in with a world class fighter you're not going to get hit... world class fighters hit other world class fighters.... that's boxing.
I don't see how Chavez can win in this fight. Even if he survives the fight I can see some serious long term damage happening.
GGG by late stoppage.
You're going overboard here, chief. Triple G is a very good offensive fighter, but he has some bad habits. He tends to be more consumed with what he's trying to do and not very interested in what his opponents are doing. His defense is very porous and his movement is very plodding.
He'll probably beat the **** out of Chavezito, though.
This is going to test GGG's stamina and chin for sure! I can't see him knocking Jr. out, as Jr. is by far the biggest man GGG has faced. I'm curious to see how GGG handles being on the back foot every now and then. It's going to be a war! I'm going with GGG via very close decision :boxing:
And consistently failed to stop or drop that lousy comp

Where did I say Chavez has fought quality competition?
I said he's fought better competition than Stevens which is pretty obvious that he has, but that's not very hard to do really.

Wheres this myth of Chavez' quality comp come from? That guy has barely beaten 1 top 10 opponent, feeble Zbik, without ever dropping him

Well who has Stevens knocked out at all?
Whilst he hasn't stopped as many and Stevens has and it looks nice on paper, the difference in opposition is vast.
I doubt Stevens has an any better KO record against the same opponents, I doubt he even beats all of them.
Chavez is much larger and clearly a heavy handed fighter.
Almost stopped Martinez, whilst not stopping or dropping Vera he hurt him multiple times.
I see nothing to suggest Stevens hits harder other than some nice highlight reel KO against bums.
