This is a new interview, compare it to his old ones a couple of years back and you will see the difference. Either Mike is high in his last interview or he is suffering from Brain Dmamage.
Always been a fan of mile high Mike but he has to retire asap imo, those back to back wars damaged him.
Mike and his trainer both sound a like so who knows maybe its a Colorado accent?
Lmao.....no such thing. Out West, EVERYONE sounds the same, with the exception of latino groups.
The thing is the damage might not kick in for years. For all we know Provodnikov is fcuked already, but until the symptoms reveal themselves he's going to go on taking damage. After all, he's at the height of his earning power, just like Alvarado.
You never know. Look at how much punishment guys like big George, JCC, Chuvalo and LaMotta took and they never showed signs of brain damage. At the other end u have a guy like Whitaker who barely took anyclean punches to the head and he is clearly punch drunk today. I guess its more genetic than anything else
Mike is thrown to the wolves, again.
Poor guy. He fights Rios twice, then Ruslan now JMM.
Marquez is actually a very winnable fight because of Alvarado's size, style and height/reach. Despite people accusing JMM of ducking Provodnikov, and Prov beating Alvarado, I actually feel that Prov is stylistically easier for JMM than Mike.
If anything, Marquez is the one fighting competition that is probably too tough for him at this age and his size. I predicted Bradley would be a very tough fight and beat JMM because of his style, but JMM did better than I anticipated, scored it a draw. Maybe he does better than I think he's gonna do against Mike, but it will be tough because of different factors, including age.
Yes, but I'm actually pretty worried about how much more pounding Provodnikov can take. He's glorious in his willingness to not just trade but to punch with his opponents, but he takes a heck of a lot of leather to his head as well.

not to mention that he sparred with manny in his prime.
i heard rumors that dallas JR showed a marked decline in his speech after sparring with manny for several camps.
Provodnikov is bad for your health.

he sounds fine to me, man. these guys aren't rhode scholars. they take punches for a living.
what you look for are problems with the sounds, not poorly planned sentences/ phrases, and words. these guys aren't the most articulate dudes for the most part. they can speak, though. when they can't speak, as in when they're having trouble with the sounds of the words or maintaining flow in sentences, then it's time for concern.
i wouldn't worry too much. he sounds OK.
All those wars getting to him.
Didnt he just get caught pushing a Suburban into a river? A guy who fights on HBO shouldn't have to do that ****. Thats pretty strange behavior on par with other boxers who have behaved strangely and later found out they had brain damage. Im not saying he's brain damaged but if hes acting strange and he gets hit in the head for a living....
Good post, and yeah I think the whole suburban into the lake incident is a real red flag, that's some crazy stuff
I haven't watched the video yet (will comment after I do) but I thought he started to look shot in the middle of his last fight.
Could be the weight, of course the back-to-back wars. He lost time in prison as well. But there was just a moment in the Ruslan fight where I thought he looked as worse as he's ever been. Didn't like the expression on his face as he tried to stay alive for those final rounds, good thing they stopped it when they did.
