Take for example: James Butler vs. Richard Grant
where Butler sucker-punches Grant after losing a decision.
Aftermath:
Grant's jaw had been knocked temporarily out of its socket. Grant received 26 stitches; he also had some loose teeth and was experiencing severe headaches
Is a sucker-punch considered proper sportsmanship, seen as a part of boxing that comes with the territory?
Is anybody else having difficulty understanding this f*ckwit?
No ! he's talking about your hero Floyd when he suckered punch Ortiz but since most of you have very low IQ'S you would never get it even if the answer was written for you
Yeah but Ortiz was never the same after that KO.
It practically ended his career, and I felt Mayweather should have beat him fair and square.
Ortiz started the dirty tactics,, don't cry when you fight dirty and headbutt, but then get suckered punch.....
I would have more respect for Ortiz if he headbutted but didn't ask for forgiveness immediately..

No. I consider not fighting a fighter to please the fans , when there is no other logical fight to take or no reason not to fight, to be the most cowardly thing in boxing.
FLOYDS GUILTY
He talks about safety first and avoids pac because of pretend drug story then goes and SMACKS ORTIZ with arms down like a dirtbag and ends everybodys night.
If Ortiz was killed may would be in jail. Its true they say 'protect urself at all times' but they also say 'obey my commands'
You mean the same Ortiz who quit against Maidana? The mentally stable one?
Quit while you are behind homie.
He himself said he was physically "shot," he wasn't sure what was wrong with his body. This has nothing to do with mental stability.

Indeed time to cut the loses and hope to fight on better ground another day.

Ortiz had his ass kicked worse than that, long before that. Dude was on 1 knee, perfectly capable of getting back up, and he chose not to.
Jesus. Bringer, banhammer, my brother.
all i can say is that ortiz deserved the sucker punch from floyd..
if your gonna headbutt, then dont act like a bytch and try and hug and make up... Even golata with all his problems never tried to hug and kiss...
If you wanna play dirty, then dont cry and say your sorry

Another example of an illegal sucker-punch
Billy Dib vs. Kenichi Yamaguchi
Australian Billy Dib was somehow awarded a first round TKO victory after punching Yamaguchi in the face while he was on the canvas. Having already suffered a knockdown earlier in the fight, a frustrated Dib rushed Yamaguchi who lost his balance and fell to his knees. Dib blindsided his opponent with a left hand right in front of the Australian referee who then deemed Yamaguchi unfit to continue and, incredibly, awarded the bout to Dib.
You give me the awful impression of someone who has literally just stumbled across this video on youtube and decided to make a thread about it.
Butler was charged with aggravated assault and served four months in Riker's Island for this stunt.
Then he murdered Max Kellerman's brother Sam, set his apartment on fire, was caught, and is now serving a 29 year sentence for murder and arson.
So what if he did?
WTF is a legal sucker-punch?
illegal sucker-punch- Marquez vs Barrera
Barrera knocks Marquez down in round seven and instead of going immediately to a neutral corner, Barrera stood over Marquez, hesitated for a moment, and then blasted Marquez in the side of the head with another right hand. Ref deducts a point and rules out knockdown.
legal sucker-punch- Mayweather vs. Ortiz
Mayweather knocks out Ortiz while time out is called. Ref rules it a ko.
