I have a question for boxing fans. I was wondering since Mayweather hasn't given us a fan appreciation fight since his Ricky Hatton bout in 2007. Do you expect him to settle down more with combination punching by trading with Marcos Maidana or just simply outpointing him with movement, clinching and landing single counters and punches at a time? So I am just curious to know what do you all think? Will he fight or just box to an easy 12 round victory?
Lol. Mayweather fans and their assessment of "standing in the pocket." Guy sits there for 7 seconds and throws a few flurries late in a fight when the fight is all but over and now "he stands in the pocket and trades" with fighters now. I wonder what you think of a real exchange in the pocket like Provodnikov did with Bradley for a recent example, that was like watching a real live homicide to a Mayweather junky.
Lmao. He's a perennial phone booth fighter, he's a modern day Marvin Hagler.:bukkake:
Mayweather was in the pocket the entire fight, and walked him down the entire fight. Why lie? Because if you give him that type of credit you will actually be admitting something else by doing so? That he is the most skilled fighter ever? Floyd actually looked stronger than Canelo, and will be WAAAY stronger than Marcos. I think he is going to stop Marcos in 5 rounds. Its NO WAY Marcos could stand in the pocket and walk Canelo down. SRL wouldnt be able to either. SRL is a tall skinny man. I think 2013 Mayweather would be too strong, aggressive, and physical for a skinny ass fighter like SRL.

please name one of fraud's fight in welter and jmw that is considered borderline crowd pleasing?
i'll wait...

The Canelo fight had people screaming jumping out of their seats. Floyd stood in the pocket and was walking through his shots, and picking off most of them. Millions of Casual fans witnessed it and probably didnt know boxing could be executed at that level. It probably isnt an athlete in history that is this magical. MJ is a good ball player but they all run and dunk the same. Floyd fights like a holligram or a cartoon character.
Did you see the Canelo, Guerrero, Ortiz or Mosley fight? I mean really did you watch them?
Do you people actually watch Floyd fight or nah? Serious question.
Cmon son.
Floyd
vs
Hernandez, Castillo 1, Manfredy, Corley, Ndou, Gatti, Hatton, SSM, Canelo, Cotto, Ortiz, Chavez, Augustus + others
any person who thinks these fights are boring, i seriously question what they are watching.

It all really depends on Maidana. The more pressure Maidana places on Floyd the more crowd pleasing the fight will get because it will force Floyd to sit down on his shots to back him off.
What's also interesting here is that Maidana won't be apologetic in headbutting Floyd like Ortiz was, so Floyd's sucker punching won't be a possibility here.

If Maidana can put pressure on like Hatton it might be entertaining, but if Maidana is slow-footed like Guerrero it will be boring.
You can't just choose to be fast footed or not.
He is going to be dominated because his foot speed isn't up there like it needs to be.
This would depend mostly on Maidana. It is up to him to cut off the ring and force exchanges. Floyd will be content to fight at his pace and out point Maidana comfortably. Maidana will have to make Mayweather uncomfortable. If Floyd has to punch more in order to win rounds (and also gets trapped on the ropes often), we may be in for an action packed fight.

Floyd will throw 1 or 2 punches at a time to a UD decision.
He wouldnt if it was his choice... but he's fighting Maidana, people. Against a prime, motivated Maidana Floyd is going to have to dispose of all the mind trickery and sack up. I tend to lean towards what Loadedwraps is saying..Floyds mind games wont work on Chino's fortress of mentality and spirit...he wont gain the man's respect.. he will have to go to war with Chino to get that. If youve been watching all of Chino's training videos as I have... you would see Chino aint gonna cooperate with the majority of expectations. Theres been some sort of a mistake..He didnt get the memo. This man is training like a damn demon. And he isnt coming to **** around in May.
people always stress physical abilities.. but it cannot be stressed enough the mentality of a fighter. Name a fighter that Floyd has fought recently with the mentality of El Chino, and i will debate with you how their mentality is inferior compared to Chino's.. more ill equipped to face a master of mind trickery. The man is similar in fighting spirit to a prime Manny ****in Pacquiao...you cant get cute with this guy in his prime you just have to knock him the **** out or be knocked out your damn self....
If Floyd was fighting Sergio next he would be cherry picking him because of his knee surgeries and over a year long layoff and he should fought him in 2011 that's what would said or why isn't he fighting GGG instead who is supposed to be the real Middleweight champ.
What's the fact he beat him got to do with his size? Floyd beat Canelo and Canelo will likely fight at 160 regularly in the future. Should Floyd?
What does their height and reach have to do with anything? Does that determine their size? Celestine Caballero is taller and has a longer reach than both.
Point is, your reasoning of "Cotto is fighting Martinez so why can't Mayweather?" Is just stupid.
I'm assuming you'd be ok with that but the reason I used it as an example is just to further show why it's a stupid reasoning.
the bottom line is, mayweather should be the 1 going for the middleweight title, not cotto. im sick of so called boxing fans that come up with excuses as to why they shouldnt do this that and the other.
mayweather is the welteweight champ, and also the super welterweight champ, why not go on to the next? who wouldnt want to see the welterweight champ who is also widely regarded as the best fighter on the planet, fight the middleweight champ? its sure as hell better than fighting a guy like chino. no disrespect to chino, but mayweather vs martinez is a much better fight.
