I'm talking about fighters who were undefeated, or had a lot of momentum behind them, and either got sent to jail, died or just disappeared for whatever reason. List them here.
Obviously the famous one is Dmitry Pirog (There is a thread about him once or twice a month). But there are others.
Anyone remember Alexander Frenkel?
23-0 18 KO's, his last fight he had was in 2010 and he nearly decapitated Enzo Maccarinelli.
One of the best knockouts I've seen.
Apparently he had some serious issues with depression unfortunately.
But let's try and come up with a list of the forgotten ones.
How the hell did you guys forget Mercito "the next Manny Pacquaio" Gesta. Ooh Arum you silly bastard. I also don't think Benavidez is going to make it either. Those hands of his are too fragile for boxing
OP Frenkel was a beast. I remember watching that Enzo KO and thinking he was an animal. I would routinely check his boxrec profile to see if any fights were scheduled but nada.
Definitely a promising fighter - good skills mixed with explosive power.
Vernon Paris fights next month or was supposed to against Pendarvis the guy Dierry Jean stopped.
Lemueix fights on undercards in Canada nothing much else.
Cote-Olivier had some serious health issues and will likely not fight again.
A couple guys I was thinking about Baha Mamajadov beat Santana then has only fought once against a plumber.
Jose Roman was signed by Top Rank but lost a SD then got released or something bcse he signed with some lower level promoter and ??
Benavidez has had hand issues.

El Léon hasn't fought in 3/4 years I think, that kids got skills I've been wondering for a while what's going on with him!
Yep Luis Garcia was promising. He fought on Shobox in 2011, and had reportedly signed with DiBella. Then he just fell off the face of the earth.
Boxing is like no other sport. Sometimes boxers disappear and no one knows where they are.
someone said "the japanese dude who KO'd kirkland"
he didnt just "disappear"..nobuhiro ishida had 2 notable fights after KOing kirkland. the first was against paul williams where he lost a decison, and the 2nd was against GGG where he got KTFO and retired.
my pick is matvey korobov. he looked very good a few years ago and just disappeared. he was like the GGG before GGG
ishida didnt retire i think he fights at heavyweight now
ut yeah korobov
Not a fun fact if you're a woman.
Lmfao!
I don't think Pirog counts though... We know what happpened to him (career threatening injuries).
Lemieux (howver you spell that s hit) was a good shout I've literally heard nothing from him since Rubio...
Whatever happened to jason litzau? Dude got KOd a few times and does he even fight anymore?
I remember the same thing kind of happening to Andrew Six Heads Lewis (i hated that guy so maybe thats why i feel like this) but what happened after Mayorga??
I remember michael grant stinking it up vs lewis, breaking his ankle or some s hit vs mccline and dont think Ive heard from him since.
Luis Garcia, mia since 2011.

Edwin Valero. the dude surely disappeared for good.
Dimitry Pirog ?
The Japanese dude who KO'd James Kirkland.
James Kirkland.
Gamboa and Guzman still on the sidelines or god knows where.
:lol1::lol1::lol1:
Craig McEwan. Was trained by Freddie Roach, often sparred with Hopkins and Margarito. He came back to Scotland and went through trainer after trainer. Took a fight with Peter Quillin against all advice, and got a former fighter turned nightclub bouncer to train him for it. Ended up fighting (and losing) on prizefighter.
joan guzman is at the bar with a hamburger in his hands.
andre dirrell is in shaw hi's office, talking about the nightmares he has about arthur abraham.
ike ibeabuchi, a talented HW, is still in prison.
Fun Fact, Ike Ibeabuchi has actually been released from prison.
Joshua clottey vanished after pacquiao lol
He didnt vanish, he's just still waiting behind his high guard

Like he's playing 'peekaboo' but forgot how the ending goes

Wow, someone other than me remembers Frenkel?
He impressed me in the Enzo fight, and it wasn't just the KO. He showed great movement, defense and counterpunching and excellent handspeed. He kept making Enzo miss and landed nearly all the meaningful shots in the fight. The judges probably had Enzo up at the time of the stoppage because he was the aggressor and the hometown guy, but I thought Frenkel was giving him a boxing lesson.
After that performance, I was looking forward to his next fight, but for some reason it never came...
