I mean he just got a bad decision to a guy who was a heavy underdog. It was his first fight in his "homeland" of puerto rico, and he dissapointed. Do puerto ricans still like him? did they ever?
I still like Danny and support him - I'm no fairweather fan, just because of a sub-par performance. Can't be on your A-game everytime out. I've never encountered a bunch of know-nothing "knowledgeable" fans in my life - lol - NSB, a bunch of casuals pretending to be hardcore.
You types must jump from NFL team to team every other week depending on who's hot
In all fairness I had felt Danny was under tremendous pressure for this fight and his main focus may have not been Herrera prior to the fight . Between trying to learn spainish and gaining the love of the island , it seems like a lot of weight on his shoulders . Not a die hard Danny fan , jus sayin ..
I'm PR and I was never really impressed with Danny. Even created a thread about it back in October.
Call me crazy but I'm still not sold on Danny Garcia - Boxing Forum

I like Danny and respect what he's been able to do in the ring, but I'm still not sold on him. Truthfully I don't know how he keeps winning. He has a leaky defense. No footwork despite his nickname of "swift". So-so speed. And he stands right there in front of you to be hit. He's a counter puncher who has had success by swinging with his opponent. He's willing to take one in order to give one and so far he's been able to give it better than his opponents. What I will give him credit for is a strong chin, heart, and the fact that he stays focused throughout the fight. He's not easily discouraged.
He almost reminds me of Tito Trinidad where if you're able to avoid his hook and box him, then you can easily beat him. A boxer like Floyd would have a field day with him. His win over Lucas was a great win as Danny proved almost everyone wrong including myself.

I don't understand why people are s**tting on Danny, he's not a judge, and these stupid Mayweather fans have people thinking one loss or bad performance means a fighter is "exposed", smh.
Oh u ain't know?? That's how it is in boxing. 1 lost and you're a bum.

We still love Danny but he obviously had a bad night. It's simple. And we're not desperate for a champion. We would like a few but it's not as bad as u guys make it seem to be.

Maybe it was a robbery maybe it wasnt, but we can all agree it was a bad performace on dannys end. Im not asking whether he won or not, Im asking do you think puerto rican fans still view him as their champion
excellent post.

I seen you reply to my post predicting a robbery in a thread before the fight. What'd I tell you, son?
And you replied that I'm talking about Danny being favored by the judges when I have Canelo in my avitar, :lol1:.
Canelo is not a judge, and Danny is not a judge either. My point was not about them, my point was that the judging in Puerto Rico is terrible.
I'll give it up, good call bro! The Puerto Rican judge had it a draw though. The Mexican had it for Danny! :lol1:
The body shots to me are still viable since they are landing.. And not only that, Herrera used that to control the distance between them..
I'm no expert, just a fan watching and Herrera looked to me like he was controlling the fight for the most part. But I don't feel that this was a epic robbery either..
Wish Herrera the best in the future and hope swift decides to move up to 147 from here on out.
I agree the body shots counted of course, probably the reason we have the stat of 3-1 Herrera on jabs. Agreed as well that he used them to control distance.
It was a boring fight. No action whatsoever.
It looked so forced last night.... like we get it showtime danny is PR.. imagine if that was someone like cotto in there last night... forget tito. that crowd would be packed in and electric. it felt like they were just giving away tickets and had people coming in and out not really giving a sh*t

Just glad to see this guy with him

I can see where you're coming from. I was reading some of the posts about Herreras body work on Garcia, and I thought it was terrible. Pot shot jobs to the body had no effect IMO.
I say I see where you're coming from because he pushed the pace from the 5th round on pretty good. But he was pretty sloppy (Not saying Gracia wasn't)

When I watched live last night seemed that Herrera was controlling the fight for the most part, however Mauro and AL were getting happy with Garcia throwing punches.. Any punches whether they landed or not...
But they all had Herrera winning on their scorecards.
As did I.. Had him winning by three

So i'm deployed right now and didn't get a chance to watch the fight live. I just saw it on youtube in some other language that I don't understand and I don't know how people are saying that Herrera clearly beat Garcia, were the showtime commentators really that high on him last night?
I'm pretty fair I would say, fight should've been a draw.
