I used to think it was a good idea to keep judges from cheating.I found out judges don't mind cheating in front of everybody, I gave Herrera 3 of the first 4 rounds so when they read the first judge's scorecards and they had Garcia winning most rounds I knew they were going to rob Herrera and Garcia knew it too. When a fighter knows he is well in front and only has to be standing at the final bell to win then they fight differently and take no chances.
I haven't seen a single fight where open scoring has helped a fight.
It was supposed to help 'fixes' not take place by showing where the rounds were scored in favour of a fighter, but looks like it doesn't matter and nothing changes other than the other fighter knowing he's being screwed.
yes, that's about it!
I actually liked it because I could track the robbery as it was taking place. Herrera fought harder because he felt he was behind and closed the show in the 12th.
One judge gave Garcia the first 4 rounds, one judge gave him the last 4 and the 3rd gave him 3 of the last 4.
It just proves that this fight was fixed from the jump because how the hell do you score the 9th and the 12th for Garcia.
that is pretty bad

Of course. Like with Alvarez/Trout, all the tension and drama was sucked out of the fight because we knew no matter what one guy did, the judges were going to screw him.
