What the hell is wrong with people. This happens every time, when a fighter wins he is the next Jesus Christ, when he loses he is the second coming of Charlie Zelenoff. We need to learn not every fight will be won or lost in the same fashion.
Now to the Garcia vs Herrera fight.
We knew( I expected Danny to do better) that Herrera is a spoiler, that he fights somewhat ugly and he is very tough. Most people thought he was going to be a tough style for Garcia and that he was going to make it close. The fight was hard to score a bunch of rounds could had gone either way. But most people tend to give an underdog more credit than he deserves do to the fact that he is the underdog. I think Danny edge out a fight he looked horrible, lethargic and Herrera fought great. Could a case be made for Herrera? Of course, easily you can see Herrera winning also. But we need to realize that styles makes fights. I bet you if Herrera fights Mathysse , Mathysse would KHTFO, because of styles and different attributes.
That's how boxing goes!!
Swift is no longer a mystery....his opponents won't underestimate him anymore...from Holt-Matthysse, they ALL slept on him in one way or another and they all eventually ended up dying in their sleep....but NOW, his opponents know who he is and they'll come well prepared....Herrera crossed the T's and dotted the I's....he did his homework, Swift looked off....I believe him when he says the weight affected his work, but Herrera's work had alot to do with it as well
I agree 100% CHAMP......I guess Swift will have to be a bum for a minute :lol1:
Definetly son, Danny gets beat by the likes of every ****ing fighter that lives hahahaah
Sadly the fact that you think honestly that danny "edged" it out discredits everything else you said as simple fanboyism. If you didn't think that it could have been a good legit post.
Who is discrediting it, you? pshh ni**a please!
Like I said lots of close rounds that people like you will giver to Herrara just because you hate Danny and/or Herrera was the underdog.
garcia is still a damn good fighter, herrera didn't expose anything except what anyone that wasn't riding on garcia's dick already knew, potshoting kills him, but know one is beating him with that style except mayweather, who can and would do what herrera did except get hit less and land more powershots, floyds right would kill garcia
any fighter actually willing to take the belt from garcia is gonna have hell on his hands
not many guys will play tag like herrera never stepping into range just poking the body with jabs to keep garcia at range(threw maybe 4 powershots out of the first 6 rd's)
but i understand why his rights were thrown so sparingly, had he thrown it more he would had been eating mean left hooks to the body

Even some of the greats have off nights. Danny is still young and will rebound. This was a learning experience and he will grow from it and come back stronger.
And I totally agree with you on this. I think its time for him and dad to develop that right hand and, better game plans. Fighters learn in every fight, hopefully he learns from this!
Indeed, and he does have talent so I hope he can grow from this.
Still that will be my issue with him going forward until he proves he can do some work with his straight right, but not everyone would fight him in that way that would take away his left and even in some cases he can still win if they do as he is now.
Herrera's style is tricky. He pretty much can't be timed, no one is going to look good against him. He's very crafty. That being said, I thought he won the fight. Danny shouldn't have been on his back foot so much and he should've jabbed A LOT more
Garcia losing tonight doesn't make him a bum it does put things in perspective for anyone that has him moving up to WW as a top dog. He's still a good fighter but now his fans will be forced to be more objective and realize he would just be another good WW who could lose to most of the top welter just as easily as he can beat them.
I'm not a DSG fan by any means, but I thought Herrera CLEARLY beat him. Some rounds were close, but Herrera was great at maintaining the perfect distance throughout. He thoroughly outboxed Garcia tonight. It could've been the weight and possibly the pressure of performing in front of his people, but he was beaten to punch all night.
Lol don't you think this sentence should follow up with "But I thought Garcia won." I mean that's the type of sentence one would use to say "I'm not a fan of this person, but even I thought he won."
I'm a pound for pound top 10 Danny Garcia hater, so it's made me sick to my stomach that I've found myself defending the guy tonight. He has a bad night against a tricky style and now all if a sudden people think Paulie, Broner and whoever else can easily beat Garcia. It is as if the Matthysse and Khan fights never happened lol thats NSB for ya
lol at top 10 p4p hater hahaha:lol1::lol1:

maybe it was the pressure of performing in front of people that weren't his
I agree, but they are not going to agree with you. Danny is now a bum, end of, in their opinion.

How dare you use boxing knowledge on a boxing website.
I would just say Garcia is very reliant on his left hook and that is a good punch but it is kind of an easy punch to mitigate, without a solid straight right which even if Garcia has he doesn't do a good job of using it in a way to keep guys honest for his left hook.
It was why Zab gave him issues really and certainly Herrera, but his better wins Khan and Matthysse gave him openings for that punch.
You are right everyone will beat Garcia until his next fight when he fights someone better but that doesn't or can't take away his left hook and he looks good again then he will be on top of the world.

tell this to floyd fans. they are the master of "look at this guys last fight" this is how you get fights like floyd-ortiz, floyd-baldomir, floyd-maidana. all it takes is 1 good fight and they will defend the choice for eternity. meanwhile if you are #1 for years and floyd doens't fight you they come up with a long convoluted timeline trying to justfiy why floyd wasn't able to fight certain guys.
