Alright guys I started watching 6 months ago .and recently watched the Oscar-Floyd fight for the first time on an old VHS and thought I would share what I thought
The main thing I picked up on was Oscar dominating all the middle rounds (easily won round 6-7 and 8) and just wanted to know whether you would agree with me or whether boxing scoring might not be for me just yet
I was all out for Floyd that fight. loved the build up on 24/7 on that and that fight showed me that Oscar as freddie roach said "couldnt pull the trigger" anymore
a VHS tape from 2007?
Exactly what i was thinking.
But one things for sure.
The seasoned boxing lingo comes out no matter how hard you try to hide.
Just carefully read all the posts.
My thoughts is that Floyd is small now and was super small then. He moved up fast just to chase the big money Oscar fight. He was only 146-148 in the ring for all his WW fights at that time. Oscar had fought at MW and just decapitated super tough Mayorga. Floyd had to move up to 154. Floyd's dad use to train Oscar and was helping Floyd in the begining of camp. All his dad talked to him about was not getting caught by the hook.
Basically I just feel that Floyd wanted the money, the fame, but at the same time was a lil fearful of the size. I think he wondered if 154 was too much for him, if he could take a punch, if he could take Oscar's punch. Thats why I feel he was super super super cautious. I always felt that if they had that immediate rematch like they said they were going to, he wouldve been much more aggressive and it wouldve been a super clear victory
You sure you new? you picked the biggest troll fight to come on here and make a thread about it so people can start up with Oscar was landing tons of shots on Floyd and oh wait Floyd was landing the clean crisp punches Oscar stopped throwing the jab that's why he lost what are you talking about Oscar threw more Jabs in the second half look at the compubox well pacquiao beat him worse and made him quit. Sorry I was just posting ahead so I wouldn't have to read it again.

I'll tell you what Bob, how about we meet up and have a tear-up?
I do sparring regularly, but whatever helps you sleep at night.
Like I said, I'd put your lights out with the first shot I land you glass jawed gimp
Guys would like to apologise for my earlier post I know I sounded like a retard but I was just wanted to show a young lad on another forum how much of an idoit he looks
The idoit in question is called Kamran you can see his embarrassing act on the ja606 boxing board
Again I would like to apologise and take my leave
So i can just assume anything you say about X or Manny has none either because they happen to be in your avatar? Keep building that straw man of yours.
no because your statements are highly defensive so in turn, you sound condescending. ive forgotten more about boxing than you have ever learnt mr know it all.:loser::nana:
9-3 Floyd. Bizarrely, Oscar could have won the fight on the judge's cards if he had stayed with the jab just a little longer. They were clearly looking to give him rounds and he only needed another round from Roth just to get a draw. It would have been a robbery of course.
Cool story bro...
Oscar didn't dominate anything, at anytime in that fight.
Pretty much. Weird how people can be swayed by flashy combinations that hit shoulders, arms or nothing at all. This fight was no closer than 9-3.
My knowledge of the sport has come a long way in 6 months
Your posts suggest you know more about how to label floyd fans when logged on then you do about boxing. But each person is entitlted to their opinion.
As great as it is when boxing draws new fans, it would've been better if you had chosen to not get into the sport. The last thing NSB needs is another poster that logs on solely to criticize floyd fans.
Then again, your posts suggest you really are not a new fan who just picked up the sport 6 months ago.
