It does the worse thing possible to the opposing fighter,it mentally destroys them, imagine you start off trying to walk a fighter down, get countered and unable to land as you are use to..then by the 5th he is so confident he is walking toward you and you still cant hit him and are taking flush shots
nothing new or scientific about this statement... anytime you outdo your opponent, especially thru 5 like you say, yes youre breakin them down more than just physically...
can you give some examples of fights a boxer has done this?
Mayweather vs Ortiz and Mayweather vs Canelo. Against Canelo he walked him down, then when he got frustrated, he used a retreating style to let him blow off steam. Then in the fourth, he went flatfooted and started letting his hands go while coming forward.
Against Ortiz, he used no movement at all. He wrestled with him on the inside opposed to moving. But in the 3rd, when Ortiz realized he would get counterd coming forward, he moved back, and Floyd followed, walking him down. Then he opens up in that 3rd round.
Yeah, what happens when the fighter starts to get gassed and begins to lean on the ropes in the later rounds after he's no longer walking the other guy down?
Does the ref stop the fight at this point?
Slow the roll player, I'm still pondering the mere thought of a fighter getting outboxed in the ehh.... mid 5th round then in turn outboxing his opponent while doing the ali shuffle in about the late 9th round while punching his opponent in the back of the head. Does the ref deduct a point? If it's steve smoger, does he kiss him on the cheek instead?? Larry the world awaits your response
now hold on just a second, what happens when you start the fight being outboxed, then in turn start walking down your opponent by the oh lets say.... 7th round? that exact scenario has always intrigued and aroused me me and I would be delighted to hear your thoughts mr. larry on this exact scenario.
