Namely Hopkins, Mayweather, Marquez, Martinez, Rigondeaux and Pacquaio.
They never bloat up. When you are dehydrated, there is a lack of protective fluid around the brain that is impossible to replenish between the weigh-in and fight time. This affects your ability to take a punch in the fight and has serious long-term effects on brain health.
They have all cut 10lbs+ for fights apart from Mayweather.

Froch only cuts 3-5.
He was 173 in the ring against Groves.
I think Rigondeaux is also the same.
Even Pacquaio only did it once he moved up from super Feather. Wasnt he weighing 140 or so on the night of the second Marquez fight?
Yeah that's true Pacquaio used to cut a lot of weight.
I was talking about at the moment though.
He only cuts a few lbs at the moment.
Ward, Martinez, they don't fight around their walking around weight, neither does Hopkins. They're all about 10 or so lbs over.
There's only a few that do, that come to the ring a few lbs above their weight class and have never been heavier than a few lbs. Mayweather's one, Pacquaio is one, Froch is one, Rigondeaux, Marquez. I'm really not sure who else.

That's 10 pounds over outside camp. 10 pounds to cut once he starts camp??????? Are you serious? Are you saying that's a lot????? He can use the water trick towards the weigh-in and lose pounds plus during camp, he is expending way more calories
You created this thread, titled "Is it no coincidence the greatest fighters of our era fight at walking-around weight?
Hopkins fights at 175, but walks around at 185, so he obviously doesnt fight at his walking around weight. If he did, he would be a CW. Its not that hard of a concept to grasp. If it was a few pounds i understand, but you dont fight at your walking weight when you cut 10-15 pounds
Its like a hangover. Some people wake up after getting smashed and feel perfectly normal. I on the other hand need a week to recover. People just deal with dehydration differently.

No surprise at all, fighters are always best closest to their "natural" weight. Plus, every name you mentioned is also exceptionally fit and never blows up between fights. Men like Hatton would have had a longer and healthier career if they looked after their bodies better.
Other fine examples of fitness are the Klitschkos, yes I know they're heavyweights and they don't need to cut weight but I have never, in 20 years, seen them out of shape. Not once.
Ok so he cuts 10-15 pounds, so he obviously doesn't walk around at his fighting weight
If he fought at 185-190, then you'd have a case but you just post a quote saying he does cut a good amount of weight. Let's not go full retard now

No he does not. He is always near the weight.
With your reputation for nutrition and fitness, it has gotten to the point where most assume you stay in fighting shape the entire year. But what is the weight that you typically walk around at?
"I walk around -- and it's no secret and I don't mind telling nobody -- at, like, 185 pounds. That's 10 pounds extra, and as hard as I work, I really need 15. I'm a guy that likes to work in the spa and get on the elliptical. I like to do things that are noncombat- or boxing-related. So I jump rope a lot and then I run a lot. I'm a health-awareness guy, and all of that includes how I eat, how much I rest and how I keep my skin good. Any kind of maintenance that I would do on a car, I do on myself."

maritnez and hopkins definitely lose weight. hopkins was a veggiesaurus and ran like crazy to make 160. martinez has been weighed in the 170-180 range several time.
pacquiao used to cut a good amount of weight when he was a featherweight and before. he fought at WW for the money, not because that's where he was most effective. he was 138 at the weigh in against hatton, and that's the sharpest and most potent i ever saw pacquiao.
and marquez is clearly on PEDs. i hate to say it, because he was a great fighter without them, but herrera / heredia period marquez is clearly cheating.
Hopkins may not be at the extreme spectrum of cutting weight but he cuts plenty of weight now and when he was a MW

theres a link between success and not killing yourself to make weight.

He weighed 156 vs Oscar. 172.5 in his last fight and had breakfast day of weigh-in
Whats your point? He was clearly way above these weights on fight night
