It's what most don't get. And to be frank, I don't get how we haven't had a major rivalry yet.
Mexico vs Cuba is a brink away.
Rigo will toy with Santa Cruz. Gamboa rapes Mikey. And Lara crushes Canelo.
Make it happen pendejos.
Great fight. Canelo has great shot vs Lara, no doubt. Does he want it is the question.
you mean lara has a chance against canelo? lol Canelo is the man at 154 not named mayweather. On his best night lara never puts on a performance like last night.
Sure, yup. You know me well carnalito. Casamayor is one of my favs, won't deny that.
Let me ask you though.. How are you going to stop this on coming storm of vicious fighters from Cuba breaking this repetitive cycle of mediocre, TV hyped fighters from disturbing your perception of what true boxing should be like? Let me know.
Name once when that has happened? only in you delusional di.ck riding heads has that happened. So rigo beats donaire but still find his ass on the canvas and donaire was a hype job? He beat one guy, donaire finally found his match in rigo and this automatically makes him bum? his other ko's of opponents were fixed right? they took a dive! lmao idiot.
Im guessing you keep referring to the when lara "made angulo quit" lmao. like injuries don't happen all the time, and the injured fighter is unable to continue. every time a top Cuban steps up to a Mexican great they will geat beat down like this. http://a.espncdn.com/photo/2008/0913/box_a_marquez_580.jpg lololololol:boxing:

But when the going gets tough? Let's say that bad ass ballsy Azteca warrior has to do a little thinking? What then? :lol1:

What rivalry? there can only be rivalries in boxing when these guys have balls and fight at the center of the ring. :boxing:

As a Rigotard I say Rigo beats up LSC bad. 12 round, methodical, beautiful, counterpunching.
Mikey puts Gamboa on his ass multiple times.
Canelo vs Lara is a 50/50 fight I used to think Lara would wipe Canelo, but Canelo has a better chin and Lara's is a bit suspect. Plus, Canelo's D is so underrated. Looks like he picked up little things from Floyd or just by getting older. Rolls with punches and does little shoulder moves that protect him from big shots.

Lara fans are having a hard time finding opponents for Lara because he's so boring.:bottle: lol
Sure. There have been 100 threads on Lara vs Canelo. Smoke-screens are clearing and butterflies are building up my friend. Don't shit yourself yet :lol1: :bottle:
I hear you. There is no denying however with the current crop we can make a nice buzz.
Don't ever mess with a man's croquetas!
Where are all the hard-core Mexicans that wanna see the best vs best? ElMeroChingon is on-board!

:lol1: If there where a steady stream of young Cuban prospects from the Island or great Ams who where allowed to compete as pro's it would be sustainable because the culture of boxing in Cuba is hardcore and never stops, but as it is we are dependent on Cubans who defect to make it as pro's, and that is sporadic and not always a guaranteed success. Also think of all the Cubans on the Island who fade into obscurity because their style does not make for great amateur fighting, but could kick serious ass as pro's . We would be out of the rivalry sooner, or later for lack of Soldiers.
This is a great time for Cuban boxing in the pro's, but I dont think it can be perpetually sustained without things changing in Cuba. The Cuban invasion wont be a permanent occupation sadly.

Theres a Mexico vs Cuba rivalry???? They trying to steal your coladas and croquetas????

This guy sounds like Lara, begging for a coin. Here you go kid:bottle:

Philippines put up better fights than the cubans. Manny has the whole country on his back and always puts up a show, comes to fight.

No one can sustain with the numbers produced out of Mexico. I agree.
But If you want to do a current quality analysis in good majority of weight classes you will find a nice amount of Cubans that will give Mexico a run for their money. Promoters and networks will do their best to avoid this from sizzling. You know dem Cubans... very little money and hi risky! :lol1:

It's not the same a Puerto Rican amateur does not have to defect and become a traitor to turn pro the amount of Puerto Rican to Cuban boxers is not comparable. What is amazing is that which such a minute number of escaped boxers turn pro's they are all over the professional ranks that is remarkable, but i dont think is sustainable at least not this way.

See I don't agree with this notion that because we have less fighters we can't have rivalry. Puerto Rico in the past, by no means matched Mexican volume and had a productive run.

Its gonna be a short lived rivalry there are about 3 Pro Cubans, and until Cubans on the Island can finally turn pro at will like everyone else;l I don't see the fact that the best Cuban boxers chances of ever seeing the pro ranks are slim to none ever changing.
