After James De Gale won his last fight and Badou Jack got KO'd, it looks like their elimination bout won't be going ahead.
It is likely that De Gale will get a direct shot at Sakio Bika now for the WBC Super Middleweight title. So what do you guys think about this fight?
I believe Sakio Bika will win this fight either by a very narrow split decision. Bika will come at De Gale with everything he has and won't stop attacking.
The only way De Gale can win is if he boxes from the outside. Otherwise he stands no chance against Bika. The only fighter to ever handle Bika on the inside was Andre Ward and even he had a tough time.
Bika for the win. Then he should look to unify the title in a match against Arthur Abraham for the WBO.
I am undecided....hence my 'what happens?' thread over on the Global Forum.
Bika really is one of the sport's roughest SOBs and an absolute expert at negating the abilities of superior opponents.....he's a niggly, strong guy with a big workrate and he's definitely not going to give up that belt easily.
There's a legit case to be made for Bika just swarming all over James and bringing him to a standstill by just always being in his face, pushing him backwards and landing enough shots to get the decsion. Bika is the champ and that kind of front-foot pressure, however ugly, can get decisions.
But the optimist in me says that DeGale - with little Jimmy McDonnell forcing him to concentrate - could give Bika a boxing lesson. Lots of fast, in-and-out raids and using movement and handspeed with Bika getting frustrated and maybe getting penalised for getting too rough? It is a possibility.
DeGale is certainly the more skillful figther - but I would like him to get a good fight in before he fights Bika. Other than Groves, he hasn't really fought anyone - and both were kind of green at the time.
Leaning towards DeGale, but could also see Bika winning.
If DeGale is switched on, he could make Bika look very silly.
If he switches off as he tends to do sometimes, he could get himself in trouble.
Basically, it's down to how DeGale performs. Bika is very crude and limited.
I live in hope that Degales lapses in the ring are symptoms of him fighting opponents who he doesnt respect.
If he can show his skill level for all 12 (which it would surely go) i think he boxes him and takes the decision.
If he doesnt i can see a back and forth fight that could go either way on the cards. When Degale stops moving and concentrating Bika will get inside easily and dominate.
Im slightly edging it to Degale though

Their eliminator was a quarter final eliminator leading up to Chavez Jr.
But I would take Degale
Can't help but feel JCC jr will be pushed either for the title or for an eliminator.
Or knowing the WBC, Bika will be stripped, Degale kicked out of their rankings and Chavez will be pushed forward to fight for the vacant title against a Tocker Pudwill type
