Pac and Maidana would be fireworks fight so people would support it. Pac fights many times iin a year, every year consistently so nothing wrong with it, and it woiuld mean nothing other than what we knew that Pac chooses tough fights.
For someone like Floyd its not good enough though because Floyd don't fight much and regularly so when he does announce his next fight like people waiting on Floyd like he is the messiah giving his message people expect more from Floyd. The way he plays it out,and dramatizes it, youd think he was going to announce hes fighting Andre Ward. Not because Floyd is held to higher standards.
Its because he has a lot of catchingup to do, and fighting Maidana when Miguel is fighting Sergio, and Pac is fighting Bradley, is inexcusable for Floyd.
You're romanticizing a guy that beat up a garbage Broner, and almost got stopped by Lopez before that. He almost lost to a prehistoric version of Morales, and got schooled by Devon Alexander.
This isn't the era of Margarito, P-Will, Cotto, prime Manny, Clottey, Shane.
Hell, I think a pre Margarito Cintron would've beaten the hell out of Maidana.
Why do people keep saying this? Josesito Lopez is not a KO puncher/finisher. He is a wear-you-down boxer with no head movement. Maidana, on the other hand, moves his head!
Truthfully, Chino was toying with Lopez. He was treating it as a sparring match, trying out new things.

I would buy it since Pacquiao comes to fight and knowing he would finally get another highlight KO. I like maidana and he would have a chance against Pac but the footwork and shots coming from all angles would be too much.
Someone gets stopped I wouldn't be worried about PAC getting hit with head shots maidana's to wide a puncher pac would slip in and out all
Night with straight lefts and right hooks horrible match up for maidana. Only way he has a chance if doesn't just catch him is to wear him PAC down with body shots hoping to hurt him to the head later
Yes I would support the fight just as I support him fighting Mayweather. He is a welterweight world champion and has the earned the right to fight any welterweight alive.
You can think Maidana's some sort of legit threat to an elite fighter all you want, and I don't have a problem with that. It's whatever to me.
Just saying. Me personally, I don't rank him THAT highly in the grand scheme of things.
This is just a right fighter at the right time moment for Maidana, and you can't do anything but congratulate him.
The only impressive thing he's done in his career is hurt Cotto and come from behind to stop Holt.
But, you just said you could sleep on Torres.
Like I said before.

I think this would make a hell of a fight. Maidana's shown that he can get to speed at times during a fight and would make it exciting. Don't see him winning, but it'd be fun seeing him land from time to time
You couldn't sleep on Ricardo Torres either, but that doesn't make him a legit threat to an elite fighter.

Holt slumped him in one Roun in the second one.. Awesome Round of course but still.
I'm fully aware of Maidana's limitations. He's far from a perfect fighter. That's pretty obvious. I may be over romanticizing him, but at the same time I think you're underestimating how dangerous he can be. You don't record 31 stoppages in 35 wins otherwise.
I already said that Floyd (or Manny for that matter) should handle him convincingly. That said, neither of them can sleep on him. You just can't sleep on a guy like Maidana. And is it really over romanticizing a guy by just saying you shouldn't sleep on him?

To Floyd fans it'd just be another "face first brawler" cherrypick that Pacquiao walks through with a breeze
Just like to PAC fans he's just another slow come forward no footwork fighter he beats with ease.

^^^^^^ LIARS. :lol1:
Not me.
Maidana's a dangerous fighter especially for this version of Pacquaio.
I said I would have been happy with Provodnikov for Pacquaio so I'd definitely be happy with Maidana aswell as both are dangerous guys.
Maidana is nobody's cherry pick. Should Floyd handle him rather convincingly? Yeah, he should. Is Manny capable of handling him? Sure.
But sleep on dude for one second and you'll find yourself dropped.
He's a dangerous fighter for anybody on the planet in and around his weight class.
