What will make the best possible fight.
We still have to see how each do against their next fight chavez with vera and froch with groves. Both didnt look good and both having a immediate rematch witht he fighters they didnt look good against.
Ward is the p4p champ of the division.
but my vote get is froch, going to be very fan friendly, both have alot and I mean of alot of fans behind them. so will just be a great event overall.
what yall pick
Froch vs Chavez would be a ****ing war. I maintain that Chavez will be a serious threat to the catchable Froch even at super middleweight as long as he shows up with some conditioning.
Honestly though I think the best fight at SMW for Chavez is George Groves!! Now that would be a fun fight.
They both jack Jr. up.
I'm hearing GGG-Chavez Jr. is being considered at 168.
He was one of the three. With Froch out, unless Ward is fully broken off from Goosen... I think it'll be GGG.
Arum will grab an option or two and have him fight Korobov later this year
Froch
It's a better fight style-wise, and froch is on the downhill,, if he gets past groves again, I can see arum and team Chavez thinking that froch is ripe for the picking
I gotta admit thats the most I every been excited watching a fight in a very long time, that was man!
It was definitely one of those memorable rounds. That right there is what boxing is all about, unpredictability. All my family jumped up and we all stood there jumping and **** lol "WTFF WOWW go kill him KIIIIIILL HIIIIM destroyy" lol. :boxing:
It was a surreal feeling similar to the Pac-Marquez fight. Moments that really make your weekend, experiences you won't forget as a fan. That's what it's all about.
The only time I saw a motivated Jr. was when he beat the dog shit out of Andy Lee, he looked pretty beastly that night. I was surprised how lackluster and pathetic his performance was against Martinez, which of coarse was against the best fighter he had faced to date. Then he looked equally bad against the smaller opponent in Vera. I've read rumors he's taking training camp serious so we'll see, I like Chavez just don't think he has the motivation or skills to make it very far.
I agree. That night everything was there for Chavez, it all looked sharp.
Here's the thing though, I believe that if Chavez would have let his hands go from the opening bell he would have stopped Martinez. He went into that ring scared, Martinez played with his mind during the buildup and it worked. He was scared to open up.
You could see the Vera disaster coming from a mile away, months before the fight when Arum was changing the weight limit daily depending on where Chavez was at lol. That was ridiculous.
Everything looks good going into the fight, I believe he is very motivated to make a statement.
I voted for Chavez to fight Ward but only in neutral territory and not in California where Ward can fight dirty and get away with it. Chavez would probably lose but Ward's chin is not that good and Chavez could hurt him. Chavez is very strong and a good in fighter. Ward won't be able to push him around.
He looks in very good shape in that photo. Not only that but he made 160 which is surprising with all of the recent struggles and his sudden move to 168.
He definitely got motivated, he was looking thin a month before the fight.
He turned Martinez into his *****:

Jr is very tough man. Hell of a chin and packs a heavy punch, he inherited his father's genes. His dedication and work ethic are definitely not the same. I think Chavez hurts Froch and stops him, I'd bet on it.
I agree, the fight should indicate where he it not only physically but mentally as well.
Jr seems to be a tough SOB and he can be heavy handed...as you say the questions concern his dedication and will...Vera II ain't a bad place to start giving some answers.
For one, both would beat him, those would be meaningless as far as standings go so based on all that I'd rather Froch-Chavez since it'll be exciting and Chavez may make it a little interesting.

Curious. I just see Jr getting a prolonged beating put on him by Froch...let's see how Vera II goes.

I think that Chavez Jr has a VERY good chance at beating Froch, specially at this stage. coWard will be tougher due his elusiveness and movement, however, if Junior pressures and throws like he did before the first Vera fight, he can definitely catch coWard with something big. Jr tends to get motivated for big fights, he is that type of person.
I would like to see both but I'd prefer if he fought Froch first. That is the kind of fight that he can win RIGHT NOW and give him the proper confidence going into a coWard fight.

This is how motivated he was before he faced Martinez; eating Captain Crunch after smoking a blunt.
