Floyd keep taking these weak ass fights. he should retire cause its getting lame before every fight we keep reading "im going to deliver him his first loss"
Guerrero and Maidana are both really weak choices for opponents IMO and canelo fight should not have been at a catch weight.
Still gotta give Mayweather credit for picking these guys apart. But i was he would let us choose his next oppent from the likes of Pacman, bradley, lara, kirkland,
Deeply sad. What does this or any other thread have to do with manny or manny-rios?
You been salty as hell since floyd announced his latest joke fight.
Just using that fight as an example where spoons theory about people not buying exhibitions was correct.
Why would a Floyd fan be mad he's fighting?
I guess that's why Manny Rios did 400k ppvs.

People don't pay to watch an exhibition fight. They pay when it's worth their hard earned money. They buy when they see a legit fight. A real challenge is what they want. This ain't going to sell coz maidana is too flat footed. He has no chance.
This isn't ppv worthy.

It should flop because people are tired of who Mayweather picks to beat next. If it were Lara, Sergio Martinez or Pacquiao it would be a success because they present a true challenge. Too bad.

It's all relative but ..... I never care about PPV # .... I just watch boxing to see good fights. Maidana beat up on a 135lb to get a fight with Floyd but lost to Devon Alexander, struggles with Morales and lost to Khan.
So the odds are not good.
I dont really care either but Marcos was huge news this year so I think it does well. If they put a good undercard on, even better for me.
Anything over 800K is a good PPV number IMO Didn't Mayweather/Guerrero do that? Didn't Mayweather/Marquez do that? or Pac/Mosley?
The undercards were far from stacked.

If the PPV does well, it will be because they had to stack the undercard
but
as a fight, it's not close to meeting anyone's expectations. I had a poll out the other day and only one poster was satisfied everyone else thought it was a waste of time!

Maidana was in 3 awesome fights this year and earned the upset of the year, and he was all over the web . He has a name now.

So that all it takes to get a fight with Floyd? Beat Broner, who had just moved up from 130 to 135 a year ago .....
Go ask yourself this. Where was:
- Maidana a year earlier? Did you say that he will be fighting and beating Floyd in a year from now?
- Same question for Ortiz, Marquez, Guerrero, Khan ,.....

Maidana had a huge year last year the numbers will do well

No Rios was an F....it was a scrub fight even for a comeback fight. Floyd v Maidana is a C. For boxing fans though like usual, Floyd-Maidana will be an A event with Bradley vs Manny a B event....
GBP always has a solid undercard....Broner, possible Lucas-Thurman, and Mares? There's nothing of note on Bradley v Manny...so event wise moneys worth it's probably going to be Floyd even with a weaker main event for fans of the sport.
Four fights worth watching vs one is a big difference.
You are showing your bias here because we are discussing Floyd vs Maidana and comparing it as a fight to Bradley vs Manny.
Go check out the polls. They give Maidana a very slight punchers chance (15%). Maidana's chances of winning on the cards is under 3% (2.2%) :lol1:
Looking at those numbers now, Oh, maybe you are right and I was wrong .... this deserves a C not a D :lol1::lol1::lol1:
Put's on movie trailier guy voice.....
"They had the same style, brothers, united by their love of money, swag and the thrill of having that "0".*Clip of Floyd and Broner living it up and talking to each other on Money phones*
Then one man changed everything. *cue clip of Maidana putting Broner on the floor with inane commentary, preferrably from George Foreman*
One man will fight for his pride and to avenge the defeat of his brother. *Cue clip of Maidana laughing manically and Floyd wrapping his hands*
This is revenge.
This is Mayweather-Maidana."
If they market it like this then it'll be bigger than The One :D
Think it does around 990k
Casuals are the majority of purchases, and when they see Broner they immediately think "Hey well he was undefeated and fought just like Floyd does" so it gives them hope. It won't be a complete failure like the Guerrero fight. But with the amount they're paying Floyd, not sure if they'll profit on this one.
Mayweather took too much time with the waiting game, he should've announced Maidana immediately into the new year while his win was still fresh before Manny announced he was fighting Bradley again.
so u find it ridiculous that a fighter wants to hand an opponent a loss?
or does he need to say it with on a tv set with fire and exploding **** in the background. u obviously dont respect the fighters u watch,
u should be the one retiring!
I guess some people were expecting Maidana to say:
"Come what may, I'm just fighting for the money. And none a ya"ll can change that."
.
