The Showtime deal with Mayweather is starting to look worse by the day. The only reason Floyd had such a big year in 2013 was because Canelo was/is a huge star in Mexico and latino fans bought the PPV like mad. The Guerrero fight, by their own admission, underperformed, if boxing fans have any sense, they'll turn away from the farce that is Maidana v Mayweather.
In fact, this is the slowest opponent ***** boy has had since Baldomir, he has NO chance. This will be simpler than Guerrero for Floyd. Guys like Alexander were able to out work and out box Maidana...
As for Khan, he has every right to be mad but he should have been smarter, if he had signed the contract about a month ago at the very least and looked at alternatives. The only fight that really makes sense for him is a Porter match up, which means Brook will get shafted once again.
What do you guys think? Who should Khan fight next? Do any of you real boxing fans think it's a good match up?
Should there be a poll? (I'd post a poll but the keyboard warriors known as our admins delete many of my posts and threads cos they can't hack that I don't care for them)
And if/when the fight actually happens, watch Maidana go from people's champion to cherrypicked bum overnight.
Btw replace "Hispanics" with "Brits", and the same can be said for Khan, too.
Khan's star power is overrated, yeah he's popular but he's stuck in no mans land. Not really a big star in the UK and not really a star here in the states, sure they will sell some PPV's in the UK but those are half the price of the American PPV's and at 4AM.
Khan should fight Kell Brook in the UK.
The Brit vs. Brit fights always sell great over there.

who gives a damn???that will happen to anyone floyd decides to flight.
Maidana was the best choice.
Khan hasn't looked good since the Judah fight and that almost 3 years ago, how are they going to build him up when he almost got ko'd by Julio Diaz and looked like crap against Molina.
All they have to do is show the Broner fight and the public is going to eat up Maidana.
the Hispanics will buy it because Maidana is a warrior who is limited but dangerous.
The world star crowd will buy it up because they want to see big brother avenge his retarded little brother.
Everyone else will buy it up because there's going to be buzz about a big Floyd fight, a lot of people only buy the PPV's so they can talk about it with their co-workers on Monday.
It's the right choice.

agree with this 100%
Who is saying Khan deserved the fight? He didn't, but don't tell me Maidana does.
And Khan also didn't deserve to be lead on for months. It was unfair of Floyd, and you can admit this much, regardless of what you think of Khan as a fighter.
How the he'll did Floyd lead him on? Wtf is wrong with ppl. If he was promised something, it wasn't from Floyd. It was from GBP. Khan should have shut up about this fight a kong time ago. It's his fault he never learned his lesson.

Led on? What is Khan? A teenage girl? Does anyone know for certain he was forced to pass on the Alexander match in order to get a fight with Mayweather? If so, it was a bloody stupid plan that looks like blowing up in his face. People really need to make their minds how they want this sport to work. Do people want fighters to earn big fights by winning fights, or get them purely on imaginary skills set match-ups? As stated, you have to go back to 2011 to get decent Khan performance footage. Maidana, not nearly so far. Khan should've fought Alexander and looked a million dollars doing it if he could, then the fight sells itself as a unification bout with style match-up.
Of course I don't know for certain, but I'm pretty sure he was. Khan is no coward, and Devon was a very beatable opponent for him.
And how is Khan Mr. Entitled? He was never overprotected, either as a prospect or as a titlist.
If Khan is 1% deserving, then Maidana is maybe 1,5% deserving. The difference is marginal. Maidana has done more recently, but Khan's best wins are better than Maidana's, plus he has a win over Maidana himself. Yes, it was three years ago, but let's not act like it didn't happen.
And even if Maidana is more deserving, that doesn't mean it wasn't unfair of Floyd to lead Khan on.
lead amir khan on? hahahaha......maidana is more deserving of this fight than khan ten fold, lets get that straight. style match-ups and who is deserving of the fight are two different things bro. even stylistically(the only leg khan has to stand on) khan gets destroyed, i'd say that stylistically khan 1.4% maidana 1%
maidana certainly deserves it over amir khan...maidana is 4-1 at 147 against good to solid competition and khan is 0-0 at 147 and 2-2 in his last four four fights. how can anyone dispute that?

To Hugh, talking crap again. You do know the plan was to fight Danny "Amir's Papi" Garcia, or Matthysse, if he won, but Garcia's team stated they weren't ready to move up, which is why Khan was even a thought. I just don't get it. The Khan fight was derided by all as a joke. But now it's not likely to happen, everyone feels sorry for Mr. Entitled, never-won-a-bout-at-147lbs, pass-on-title-shots Khan? Please. Maidana doesn't match up well style-wise, I'll readily admit, but at least he fought his way there rather talked his way there while sitting on his butt for the better part of a year.

I'm with this guy. Can't believe ppl are literally crying about this, like Khan deserved the fight.

The rematches are useless, PEDerson is a cheat and should be banned.
Paulie was handled by Khan easily.
The only fights at 147 worth AMir's time are Porter who has a belt and Broner who is a name. Thurman is too big a risk for too small a reward but in a years time that may change.
If I was Khan or part of his team, I'd push for a Porter fight, get that belt and then push for Broner in the summer and round the year off with Brook.
I disagree on the Peterson rematch. I think it's the best option for Khan. Peterson has a belt, and is the most beatable of the guys you mentioned (except Paulie).
Porter, Broner and Brook would be a heck of a year for Khan, worthy of FOTY consideration if he beats all three, but with his weak chin, one risky fight a year is enough imo.
