I voted yes he will need the money. I have no idea if he really will need money. He should have a huge fortune that will easily last a lifetime. But he is also a typical American superstar boxer with huge spending habits. He has a large number of very high dollar cars, many houses, lots of jewelry and a habit of making huge sports bets. He can do that now because of all the money coming in from his fights. When the money from his fights ends he will have to cut back his incredible spending because I doubt he invested much of the money he earned. If he can't cut back on the spending I think we will see him back in the ring in a few years. Being way past prime won't stop him from fighting any more than it stopped Holyfield or Toney.
When he "retired" in 2007 everyone knew he was coming back. His dad said the whole time that he would be back.
I think a few years after the checks stop coming in he will come back. His promotional company really is just another arm of Golden Boy at this point and there is nothing that suggests he has any interest in putting in the time to build a promotional company.
Floyd retired in 2007 and came back in 2009? So it's been 5 years already he gunna do a Bernard Hopkins unless he signs major talent to mayweather promotions
I would say no, I'd imagine he will get away from the game as soon as his time with Showtime is up.
I wouldn't bet on it though, the greats almost never leave when they should.
Signs point to yes...y stop at 49-0? And most importantly it's been done before...maybe not boxing but "faking" a retire has proved to be successful at generating income & interest...look at jay z...wasn't the black album supposed to be his "last album"....didn't jordan retire like 50 times lol...people would buy tix and ppv just to see how he ends his career...people wNna witness the end of an era...
I think so, wishful thinking maybe but..MGM is opening a new arena on the strip in May 2016 - I'd like to think he would be the first to fight there. Against Pac even
