Imo ward is doing what floyd does at 147.
And what GGG is at 160. Fight average guys ,dont move up to fight any real threat And let them clear themselves.
But breakdown how he doesnt eat left hands
Stevenson is a boxer first. If he tries to box Ward, he'd get outboxed. If he tries to attack Ward on an all out assault, which is unlikely, he'd play into Ward's counterpunching.
I see no way other than a puncher's chance and with Ward's slickness and holding, slippery tactics, it will be very, very difficult to catch him clean.
well i already explained that he jumps forward behind his left shoulder. landing a straight right doesn't work because his head is behind his shoulder. landing a jab or left hook doens't usually work because he closes the distance so fast. a guy with a good straight left would have the time and distance to hit ward when he jumps forward. if you watch the dawson fight you can constantly see dawson trying to counter ward's rushes with right hook counters......futile effort. dawson is a right hand dominant southpaw so it was an easy fight for ward.
why did floyd keep getting hit by judah when they were both just standing in the middle of the ring? why is floyd so good at rolling and dodging punches when orthodox fighters get him on the ropes? it's all the same concept that ward uses cept he uses it to smother opponents and get close instead of countering like floyd.
if ward fought a left hand dominant southpaw he would get hit a lot more unless he came up with some other type of style. would he still be able to win? maybe but fighters don't like getting hit. getting hit increases your chances of losing. it's all a numbers game. you win 100 percent of the fights you don't take.
How can you know this when he's never fought one?
Floyd and Ward don't fight alike so using him as an example is silly.
You have nothing to actually base this on, frankly.
:lol1: So nothing then.

his boxing stance, angles, and my vast knowledge of boxing. ward has never fought a left hand dominant southpaw. coincidence? ward turned down fights against 2 southpaws with good lefts. coincidence? ward knows whats dangerous to him. i know what's dangerous to him. now everyone knows. sorry andre! lets hug it out?

I think Floyd, Ward, Stevenson and GGG (although, unproven thus far) are all great fighters. I also think a great smaller man loses to a great bigger man 99.99% of the time so, Stevenson>Ward>GGG>FloydStevenson is not bigger than Ward. Stevenson spent most of his career at 168, the same division as Ward and moved up to 175 when he couldn't get a Froch fight and saw the Dawson fight as an opportunity and has said he can make 168 no problem for the right fight. They are the same size. GGG and Floyd are smaller.
stevenson would beat him easy. ward has the same problem floyd has. southpaws with good straight lefts get through his defense. ward already turned down a stevenson fight and a bute fight. see the pattern? good left hands. keep cherry picking those styles!
What do you base this on?
Bute squares up though, Ward dips low when he gets inside, he ain't easy to catch at all. How was Bute ever gonna get Ward off of him when he doesn't move around either? Ward has exceptionally fast feet when he moves forward. I don't see how a fighter who hasn't shown many dimensions offensively will keep Ward off of him, Stevenson ain't it.
stevenson prob has the best straight left in boxing. its fast, powerful, and accurate. he can throw it straight, loop it, or uppercut. he doesn't need any other dimensions when that dimension is so good. he also has good foot speed. he's not gonna just stand there and let ward hug him. he's going to make ward pay for coming forward. ward's gonna be weary of jumping in like he does because of how powerful and acccurate that left hand counter is. even on the inside ward would prob have problems because he's not used to fighting left hand dominant southpaws. his entire shoulder-roll style is based on neutralizing righties. basically worst style ever for him. he's better off starting a petition "ban all left handed people from boxing" then fighting stevenson.
I think Stevenson will only be a slight dog vs Ward. I have been impressed with Stevenson's growth. He is taking a sort of Manny Pacquiao like growth.
I remember when I first Stevenson I didn't think he was all that great but then something clicked in him. He's been getting better every fight.
Stevenson is just so good at firing his left hand going backwards or forward. I would still probably pick Ward but I wouldn't be too confident.
I think Kovalev would KO Stevenson though.
ward didn't want to jump forward against a guy with a good counter left(bute). stevenson also has good movement, and good hand speed. a great left hand against a guy who's vulnerable to left hands? no thanks! yeah ward will fight right hand dominant southpaw dawson but these guys? not happening. maybe they should just make it illegal for left handed people to box? that would make floyd and ward very happy.

Bute doesn't have a good left hand, he has a counter left uppercut that he usually goes to the body with but he doesn't lead with it well. Stevenson on the other hand does have a good left hand but the thing is that's about all he has.

I think Stevenson KOs Ward or bullies him for 12 rounds but each year that Ward postpones his move up to light heavy makes it more and more likely to get a decision against him. I'm glad Kovalev is only 30, since the time passing won't hurt him as much

GGG's a great fighter man..come on guys. You point out that he's unproven but he's still a great fighter? This shit is frustrating.
He passes my eye test for what it's worth. I can't envision any middleweight really hurting him. Do you think any of the other middles beat him?
It'll be hard for anyone to get passed Ward's constant and blatant illegal tactics, most of which the refs don't care about. Excessive holding and headbutting is a tough task to defeat.
So people think that even though a journeyman like Tony Bellew was able to outbox Stevenson at times, one of the best boxers on the planet won't be able tot do the same? Interesting
when did this happen? stevenson won every round and ko'd bellew. bellew and ward fight nothing alike anyway so its pretty pointless. ward likes to jump forward to cut the distance and smother his opponents. stevenson will be waiting with that deadly left hand counter. there's a reason ward turned down the fight. it has nothing to do with money, popularity, or any other jibberish. deadly left hand=ward run away
