Of Khan and Maidana people post compelling arguments for both (don't put them here again). Something I wonder about though is since Bradley and Pac are off due to TR Promotions, Lara isn't a big PPV draw, why not GGG with his rising star status, PPV views, and K2 Promotions? The only downside from what I understand is that GGG is now signed to fight at a hotel chain in Monaco?
Anyone wanna elcudiate the problems with this match?
the reason people keep throwing GGG's name around is because floyd won't fight the best in/around his own division. ... I mean he won't fight pac ... won't fight bradley etc. So people start saying ok then you won't fight who you should be fighting so how about GGG?
if he was was lining up pac next, bradley after that followed by danny garcia etc etc I for one would be delighted and imo nobody would bother mentioning GGG. But when he refuses to go up AND refuses to fight the best in or around his weight people rightly get pissed at him ... I mean kahn or maidana?? sheesh he's supposed to be p4p no 1.
Exactly. He makes excuses to not fight people around his own weight as well, and when he does fight its once a year at most mostly and more like once every 18months in reality. And to avoid people he says he is with TR, or he is hbo or whatever.
Then they twist that people wanting Floyd to fight GGG as GGG called him out, as Floyd being held to higher standards? I mean, Floyd fans try winding people up.
We want Floyd to fight GGG, as he is basically avoiding everyone else in his divisions or waiting ridiculously long to make fights happen.
No man. These fighters already risk their lives for their sport. By that reasoning RJJ was obligated to fight Lewis. He wasn't. He was brave enough to make a claim at HW, that doesn't mean he owes the division his career. Floyd is not a big Welterweight, he certainly doesn't need to fight MWs to prove himself. Not anymore than Triple G needs to fight at LHW, or Ward needs to fight at HW. Weight classes exist for a reason.
Edit: By your standards I want to see those other fighters ACTUALLY compete in those situations. Triple G's team has bragged about how they'll fight anybody up to 168 but run from Ward. Pa has never actually fought a 154 fighter but fought a beaten Margarito at 151 and fought Cotto at 145. I'm so sick of Floyd being held to a different standard because you haters want him to lose. I'm sorry he is legit better than all of your favorite fighters. Get over it.
Big difference. Rjj is a paper champ at hw no doubt, still a major accomplishment. Floyd 2x, lineal, unified, reigning champ at sww who's already proved reluctant to give up the belt he's too small to wear
You probably shouldn't expect that of prize fighters because it isn't fair. Weight classes exit for a reason.
And I agree with you 110 percent and beyond with you on the need for weight classes and the reason for their existence. But, noone (except Bernard Hopkins) has asked Floyd to fight where he hasn't competed professionally before. If anything, it is the other way around on this subject; fans are wanting Gennady to fight where he has never competed professionally. If the stated concern were for Gennady's safety I could understand that a little more as we don't know how his body would react to the drop in weight. If when Sergio challenged Floyd at 150 the stated concern was for Sergio dropping 10 lbs at his age, I would be more understanding as he hasn't been that low for a very long time (I think Sergio began as a welterweight). But, it hasn't been, on both occasions, in which fairness was more on the side of Floyd than either Sergio or Gennady.
Floyd is the most technically sound amd proficient fighter that we have seen and will probably see for a looong time. This can't be logically be debated, I think. But, my argument, here, at this moment, is only that he has been very carefully selective of his opposition at certain points in his career to protect his record. My argument, here, is nothing more or less than that.

Floyds not held to a different standard. If FLoyd was held to a differnet standard he wouldnt be fighting the likes of Maidana or khan, whilst Pac is fighting Bradley.
If he is going to avoid p4p fighters like Bradley, move up and fight GGG. Floyd hasnt taken risks, fighting DLH, Cotto and Saul Alverez who campaigned at weights lower than 154 most of their careers hardly makes Floyd brave does it? He is happy to bloat JMM up, so he can fight GGG indeed to make up for all those years he went AWOL.
Time for Floyd to fight someone who is visibly taller than him and not small sized guys.
If I remember right, and I could be wrong, Eoy had actually challenged the likes of Lewis and one of the Klitschkos. I don't question Floyd's bravery or any fighter for that matter. Bravery is not what is in question here, friend. At some point GGG WILL have to challenge the higher weights, if he wants to make the same claim as Floyd. And the same is true for Ward. I hold this standard to every fighter, not just Floyd as you seem to believe. Which why I said what I said in the last sentence of my previous statement. Manny also avoided fights at 154, especially when challenged at 150 by Sergio. He also has picked and chosen. This isn't about me picking on Floyd, bro. I expect the same of anyone. You step into that realm, be prepared for what comes with it. If you don't want certain predators after you don't step foot into their environment. Again, whether it's Floyd, Manny, Ward, whoever, I expect the same thing. Which is why I said hate or love has nothing to do with this.

Hate or love is irrelevant, KJB. If someone makes the decision to contend in a weightclass, especially on more than one occasion, is it not reasonable that that person will be challenged by those of that class? Or if one's claim is either goat or best in the world, is it unreasonable that others who feel they are the best want to challenge that claim? That is the naturs of the sport Floyd is in. Again, some of these guys such as Sergio and Gennady are willing to put themselves at a disadvantage in order for the opportunity to test such a claim. It is respectable that Floyd has competed there before, indeed. But, let's not pretend that these were not carefully chosen opponents like I had stated before. I expect the exact same thing from any fighter, whether we're talking Gennady, Floyd, Manny, or Sergio (who has been fighting naturally larger men since he took the title from Pavlik, exception being Dzinzurik, I think who came up from 154, if I remember right). I encourage Floyd or any person to legitimately make as much money as they can in this business. But, at the same time, I encourage us to keep it 100 and not lie about what's happening whether it's our most beloved or most abhorrent

Cause Floyd doesn't have to be in fights where he is physically, ridiculously outmatched every fight just because you haters want him to lose. He went to 154 for huge money fights, but was outsized every time. Fighters have the right to fight in their actual weight classes, that's why we have weight classes, the fact that Floyd has fought above 147 three times speaks more to his courage than anything else.

Hasn't he fought junior middleweights before? Why was it ok against De la Hoya and Alvarez, but not ok against Gennady?

HBO/Showtime.
A MW and a WW.
This.
Floyd isn't some huge WW. He started at 130 and worked his way up to 147. At 154 he is clearly outsized. The man does NOT need to fight at MW anymore than Triple G needs to fight at LHW, or Ward needs to fight at HW. It's unreasonable to ask of him, and frankly most people are calling for it just because they want to see him lose and know that nobody his own size can beat him.
Why can't Nelo fight Hopkins?!?....better yet, GGG vs Hopkins with the winner getting Floyd and the loser gets Ward.....how about Provodnikov vs Kirkland with the winner getting Marquez and the loser gets Chavez Jr....smh
I don't think it's fair to ask Floyd to fight a middleweight but when i read comments like this, I really wish the fight happens
he's delusional.
Regardless, I don't get this "he's a middleweight" talk, if you weigh in at 154lbs you're a junior middleweight, that's the weight class.
as on right now, floyd whoops ggg ass at 154 because ggg isn't that good to being with and he'll be weight drained.

Mike Tyson is 5'10 so and so... You idiot.
Not sure how Tyson being 5'10 disproves the point I was making, if you fully read what I was saying, TRT. Or if you misunderstood the point I was making. Either way, no need for us to insult each other, man. If you want me to clarify my point I can do that if you want
