Why can't Floyd vs GGG happen?

the reason people keep throwing GGG's name around is because floyd won't fight the best in/around his own division. ... I mean he won't fight pac ... won't fight bradley etc. So people start saying ok then you won't fight who you should be fighting so how about GGG? if he was was lining up pac next, bradley after that followed by danny garcia etc etc I for one would be delighted and imo nobody would bother mentioning GGG. I mean, Floyd fans try winding people up. We want Floyd to fight GGG, as he is basically avoiding everyone else in his divisions or waiting ridiculously long to make fights happen.

No man. These fighters already risk their lives for their sport. By that reasoning RJJ was obligated to fight Lewis. He wasn't. He was brave enough to make a claim at HW, that doesn't mean he owes the division his career. Floyd is not a big Welterweight, he certainly doesn't need to fight MWs to prove himself. Not anymore than Triple G needs to fight at LHW, or Ward needs to fight at HW. Weight classes exist for a reason. Edit: By your standards I want to see those other fighters ACTUALLY compete in those situations. Triple G's team has bragged about how they'll fight anybody up to 168 but run from Ward. Pa has never actually fought a 154 fighter but fought a beaten Margarito at 151 and fought Cotto at 145. I'm so sick of Floyd being held to a different standard because you haters want him to lose. I'm sorry he is legit better than all of your favorite fighters. Get over it. Big difference. Rjj is a paper champ at hw no doubt, still a major accomplishment. You probably shouldn't expect that of prize fighters because it isn't fair. Weight classes exit for a reason. And I agree with you 110 percent and beyond with you on the need for weight classes and the reason for their existence. But, noone (except Bernard Hopkins) has asked Floyd to fight where he hasn't competed professionally before. If anything, it is the other way around on this subject; fans are wanting Gennady to fight where he has never competed professionally. If the stated concern were for Gennady's safety I could understand that a little more as we don't know how his body would react to the drop in weight. If when Sergio challenged Floyd at 150 the stated concern was for Sergio dropping 10 lbs at his age, I would be more understanding as he hasn't been that low for a very long time (I think Sergio began as a welterweight). But, it hasn't been, on both occasions, in which fairness was more on the side of Floyd than either Sergio or Gennady. Floyd is the most technically sound amd proficient fighter that we have seen and will probably see for a looong time. This can't be logically be debated, I think. But, my argument, here, at this moment, is only that he has been very carefully selective of his opposition at certain points in his career to protect his record. My argument, here, is nothing more or less than that.

If someone makes the decision to contend in a weightclass, especially on more than one occasion, is it not reasonable that that person will be challenged by those of that class? Or if one's claim is either goat or best in the world, is it unreasonable that others who feel they are the best want to challenge that claim? That is the naturs of the sport Floyd is in. Again, some of these guys such as Sergio and Gennady are willing to put themselves at a disadvantage in order for the opportunity to test such a claim. It is respectable that Floyd has competed there before, indeed. But, let's not pretend that these were not carefully chosen opponents like I had stated before. I expect the exact same thing from any fighter, whether we're talking Gennady, Floyd, Manny, or Sergio (who has been fighting naturally larger men since he took the title from Pavlik, exception being Dzinzurik, I think who came up from 154, if I remember right). I encourage Floyd or any person to legitimately make as much money as they can in this business. But, at the same time, I encourage us to keep it 100 and not lie about what's happening whether it's our most beloved or most abhorrent No man. Hasn't he fought junior middleweights before? Why was it ok against De la Hoya and Alvarez, but not ok against Gennady? HBO/Showtime. A MW and a WW. This. Floyd isn't some huge WW. He started at 130 and worked his way up to 147. At 154 he is clearly outsized. The man does NOT need to fight at MW anymore than Triple G needs to fight at LHW, or Ward needs to fight at HW. It's unreasonable to ask of him, and frankly most people are calling for it just because they want to see him lose and know that nobody his own size can beat him.

I don't think it's fair to ask Floyd to fight a middleweight but when i read comments like this, I really wish the fight happens he's delusional. Regardless, I don't get this "he's a middleweight" talk, if you weigh in at 154lbs you're a junior middleweight, that's the weight class.
