I watched the fight again recently, and I don't mean or am implying that Haye was truly physically 'beaten down', but it's worse than let's say a flash KO in some cases when you are just outclassed, it can mentally break you more than physically and this causes a change. I have to say, I was really disappointed after that fight that Vitali didn't stop him. However, a sustained beating is often more effective in the long term...case in point Haye and Briggs.
