So it looks like Khans set to win this dubious poll. As much as I think Khan doesn't deserve the fight and Maidana deserves it due to his decent run at WW, I believe Khan has a decent chance.
Imo mayweather see's this as an easy fight where he can knockout khan afterall he "does deserve an easy fight". Although I think mayweather is favourite, I think he's underestimating khan as are 90 percent of people on this board
Yeah Khan looked like ****e in his last fight but if he can revert back to his old style under Roach were he would throw 4/5 punch combos at will I can see him doing well as mayweather has never fought someone this fast. If khan can fight smarter while applying his punch output of old I see mayweather having some problems.
And people are acting as if mayweather is some sort of knockout artist where he's gonna knock khan out in two rounds? Lolwut. Khan took maidanas best shots and even managed to continually get up against Garcias beastly hooks. Yeah mayweathers right hand is snappy ect but it's not a knock out punch. Mark my words, no one will win by knockout, it's gonna be a UD for Floyd or split decision for Khan.
So I say, don't he surprised if khan wins. Although he doesn't deserve it, it should be an entertaining fight. Oh and if khan does manage to cause mayweather problems, imagine the problems Pac would cause :boxing:
This is just wrong... you have it the wrong way around.
Khan has an OK chin, he can take a few, will be dropped or wobbled by a few ... much like Bradley. However, Khan's recovery is awful. He couldn't recover against Garcia at all. He practically has to take the rest of the round off when he get hit flush because he can't recover very well. It's what separates Khan and Bradley....Bradley has superhuman recovery.
Mayweather may drop Khan a few times, but he has very little chance of KOing him because he simply doesn't have the power to do so. It took HUGE shots to put Khan down for good, something we all know Floyd doesn't have. Khan gets up, albeit wobbling around not knowing where he is. Recovery is just something a fighter has, you can't really teach it
The place where Garcia landed the shot, it is a miracle Khan even got back up to fight another round
Same shot floored Price
A full force shot on the back of the neck will rock ur equilibrium, thats a spot used by martial arts experts to render people unconscious, ur legs literally go. It must of felt like a baseball bat hitting ur neck, sending shock waves down ur nervous system.
The fact Khan got back up to fight on and take further huge shots is a testament to his recuperation
Madiana fight is prime example of his recuperation
only been tko'd twice, never knocked out unconscious also by hard punchers, one between the neck and jaw, other very early on in his career
khan doesnt have the strongest chin, but his recuperation powers are very good, he more than likely recovers

To be fair, the Prescott fight was virtually a knock out.
i meant unconscious like manny was against jmm
khan may hit the canvas but 9/10 he gets back up
garcia said khan is a strong mutha****a, cuz he doesn't give up and that can be daunting for his opponents

Lets hope Floyd doesn't try these antic once more.
The ratio of times knocked out vs total fights is not how you determine if a guy has a good/bad chin. This isnt anything new.
Khan is overrated trash
only been tko'd twice, never knocked out unconscious also by hard punchers, one between the neck and jaw, other very early on in his career
khan doesnt have the strongest chin, but his recuperation powers are very good, he more than likely recovers
See, I never said he was a complete fighter. As mentioned above, I have reiterated his faults. It is those positive traits that you mentioned which will make the Mayweather fight more competitive than most believe. Yeah Floyd is the favourite, but don't be surprised if its a cherry pick gone wrong.
Well, he would need to be a more complete fighter to have a chance to beat Floyd--or even just be competitive. He's either good enough or he isnt. So your prediction is hard to swallow.
He also hasnt done anything at welterweight--unless you count getting dropped by an aging career lightweight that Khan had to drain to 143 pounds when he couldn't drain Senchenko. I just have no respect for Khan.
He should be fighting the likes of Collazo or Ortiz/Berto.
The word champion is abused daily. he is not a champion, he was a titleholder.
He is a fun action fighter with fast hands and accurate combination punches. he is far from being a complete fighter worthy of praise/attention.

^I know its all about the context. But the way people go on here you'd think he gets knocked out every other fight. Oh and I already said he doesn't have the best chin ect. Everyone knows that. Im just saying its overplayed how bad it really is.
You can't be trash to be a two time world champion.

^and thats why I don't think Mayweather will knock out Khan. Yes, Khan is chinny, has questionable defence and his recuperation isn't the best but I just don't think Mayweather has enough pop to do it. The weakness of his chin is vastly exaggerated on here. The way some guys go on you'd think Khan is fighting Tyson come May 3rd. Also, I think Khan will fight smarter, hopefully.
Floyd Mayweather doesn't stick his chin on a platter and trade blow for blow so some equate his style to running.
(Main pic courtesy of HBO)
But Mayweather isn't a runner at all.
He is a effective pocket fighter who, at spirts, can be an aggressor who locks opponents into retreat mode.
But this article isn't about Floyd; it's about Amir Khan and his supposed weak chin.
Has the Brit been given an unfair label?
Amir Khan has been knocked out twice in 31 fights; once in every 15.5 bouts.
Fact: Kostya Tszyu was also KO'd twice in 31 bouts but no one considers him weak. In fact, he is revered as a warrior and legend.
Was Arturo Gatti chinny?
Fact: Arturo Gatti was knocked out five times in 49 fights; once in every 9.8 bouts. Interestingly, his bravado was never questioned and Gatti is viewed as one of the most gritty fighters in the history of the sport.
Fact: Mike Tyson was stopped five times in 58 fights; once every 11.6 bouts. While Mike isn't considered as durable as Muhammad Ali, Evander Holyfield or George Foreman, no one would dare classify him as chinny.
Fact: Ricky Hatton was stopped three times in 45 fights; once every 15 bouts. Has his ability to absorb punshment ever been in question?
The fighters above are praised for their skills and resilience yet Khan is perceived as weak; a comparison by the numbers tells a different tale.
Morever, each fighter was KO'd at least once in his 20s.
Khan vs Prescott
Khan suffered his first loss in 2009 via a first round knockout to Breidis Prescott who entered that bout 19-0 with 17 knockouts. The Colombian, at lightweight, was a knockout terror.
"We knew he (Prescott) was a dangerous puncher," said promoter Frank Warren after the bout.
After being initially flattened by a murderous shot that landed flush, Khan arose and bravely attempted to engage his foe. Instead of holding on for dear life, the courageous Khan tried to mount and offensive and subsequently got tagged flush again, was floored and unable to continue.
When an explosive KO artist, like Prescott at the time, lands multiple powershots flush and within a matter of seconds, he'll almost always knockout his opponent.
Khan vs Garcia
The Brit suffered his second loss, also via the knockout route, to Danny Garcia.
The shot that lead to the KO was thrown with the weight of Garcia's entire behind it and caught Khan flush on the side of neck just below the ear.
Hard punches that land cleanly on the upper side of the neck under the ear don't always produce a knockout but can shock the brain and cause the recipient to stagger and wobble badly - and Amir Khan did just that.
Amir Khan was now forced to stand toe-to-toe and slug it out with Garcia. Receiving more than he was giving, a shaky Khan would survive the round.
Having not recovered from the effects of the left hook in the previous round, Khan was on 'queer street' for the entirety of Round 4 but stood toe-to-toe with Garcia like a wounded tiger, refusing to submit.
Many forget the fireworks Khan supplied after being badly hurt.
Garcia would go on to score two more knockdowns, prompting the referee to stop the bout with Khan on his feet protesting the stoppage.
When Garcia uncorked a lethal left that floored Erik Morales later that year, the tough-as-nails Mexican, unlike Khan, stayed down.
Known for his grit and ability to absorb punishment, Morales, as well as tough guy Lucas Matthysse who was floored by Garcia in September, would probably attest the Philadelphian packs a wallop.
Defensive lapses or durability issues?
While Khan may have (or had) some holes defensively, let's be fair. The fighter some have dubbed Amir 'Chin' Khan' has weathered a few storms and attempted to fight back harder each time he's been hurt.
Anyone who fights twelve hard rounds of give-and-take with the monstrous-punching Marcos Maidana and survives heavy shots, stays on his feet and even notches the win, must possess some degree of heart and durability.
Khan has eaten some flush shots from heavy punchers that would have probably knocked out just about anyone in those respective divisions.
Is the weak chin label fair?
His ability to continue fighting after absorbing wicked shots worthy of highlight reels may be a sign he's quite durable.
Any future opponent who believes Khan will completely crumble and be counted out the first time he's hurt might be in for a rude awakening.
There is nothing in his past to suggest that.
