Im assuming Showtime has to approve Floyd's opponents. Showtime should put a poll with a more then two fighters and see who the fans really want to see Floyd fight.
I feel like I always hear HBO turning down fighters opponents. Maybe Floyd is just too big to deny but he is under contract.
Espinoza did come out and announce he wants to
negotiate the Pac fight just a week or so after Pac's last fight.
Money Mayweather pulled his Arum card.
yes he did he shot that down quick. queefweather would of never signed the contract if they could make him fight pac or anyone decent

my understanding is they can't force him to fight somebody but they have to sign off on the fight ... i.e. floyd can't say 'I'm fighting this bum with fifteen losses' and likewise they can't say 'you have to fight pacman'
Or is if because of PPV numbers?
Showtime lost 15 million at least on Floyd vs Ghost. Hence the Canelo fight.
Showtime can't afford to let Floyd fight cream puffs.
The best fighter in the sport should fight the best. Bring on Pacquiao Bradley Lara.
If Floyd retires undefeated after those 3 then I have no issue crowning him as one of the GOAT
Showtime cant afford to get queefweather beat
We wanted canelo at 154 not a BULL SH*T catchweight!
Blame Canelo for signing the contract. Obviously Canelo had no issue with the weight if he signed the contract.
Same goes for Pac's catch weight and rehydration clause fights. His opponents agreed to the conditions so it is what it is
It is hilarious how people on here act like they have amnesia after EVERY Floyd fight...ya'll begged for the damn Canelo fight, said Floyd feared him and Showtime forced the fight

Dude, give it a rest. I know in you guy's fantasy world that the Split Decision win was legit and that Oscar was game, but, in the eye's of every observer who has common sense saw that it was a lopsided fight. 9 rounds to 3, no reason for a rematch, especially from a part time Oscar. But, maybe your right. Maybe Floyd was afraid to lose that "precious little 0" to a man that he just shut out.
Floyd retired because 147 was hot. Floyd pretty much tells us he does not want tough fights. He does not want fights where he may get hit a lot. Do you disagree with that? Hes not the kind of guy to say Ill fight anyone. He is very careful in picking his opponents. Low risk high reward.
Ok bruh keep telling yourself that dude was a cheater now look what was a better situation for fmj staying with top rank or fmj doing what he is doing now??
Margarito was the most dangerous man in boxing back then. That is what Floyd does though. He lets everyone fight each other and sits back and says see I told you about this and that guy.

Oscar didn't deserve a rematch, but Broner does?
Talking about losing Money?? Then you Mention Lara and 2 HBO fighters..so Lara who has no fanbase at all and the 2 HBO fighters who Showtime would have to SPLIT MONEY WITH if the fights are even possible to make....come on people do ya'll think before posting? sure we want these fights but there are not even possible
De La Hoya fought
Javier Castillejo
Yori Boy Campas
Felix Sturm
Who are these guys to be fighting on PPV? Nobody knew them.
Floyd can fight anyone. Especially when people like you consider them him to be "the face of boxing" "boxings biggest draw".
Every fight is possible.
Showtime are looking for the biggest money fight for Mayweather, again they are looking at the biggest money fights, the option at the moment is khan and khan only sorry... He brings the biggest money to the table more than Maidana or Lara.
Floyd had just seen the most money he had ever seen and was like a kid in the candy shop and thats why he overspent ..had nothing to do with anything else...hell He came back and fought Shane and Cotto
What about Margarito? That was one of the biggest ducks in boxing history. Floyd would have probably have pulled out a UD but he would have gotten hit a lot more then he would llike.
I just think he did not want to fight Oscar again. He won a split decision. We all know Floyd loves that O he has. 147 was also hot he took a break to let it cool off.
Floyd is a great fighter no denying that but we all know he does look to fight the best people out their he likes low risk high reward minimal to no punishment.
Are you serious he got everything he wanted in the Oscar rematch contract except the split he wasn't fighting him again for less money it's just that simple nothing to do fear when anybody sense can see that fight wasn't split decision.

Floyd would never let anyone have final say over him. He adores being his own boss and would not have had that in his contract.
If its not in their best interests from a business perspective then they won't approve of certain opponents. Floyd is not bigger than cbs/showtime. Networks are in it to make money. Not lose money. The reason why it's taking so long to announce his next fight is because they know both khan and maidana are both risky fights from a business standpoint. Guaranteeing Floyd 32mil on a fight that may not break a mil is not smart business.

My question is.... How the **** does anybody know who lost how much money, aside from the people who actually work at showtime. It's so annoying hearing people say oh they lost this amount because if this fight or what not. Nobody outside if shiwtime execs know so unless you're one if them stop posting this crap
