my understanding is they can't force him to fight somebody but they have to sign off on the fight ... i.e. floyd can't say 'I'm fighting this bum with fifteen losses' and likewise they can't say 'you have to fight pacman'

I know in you guy's fantasy world that the Split Decision win was legit and that Oscar was game, but, in the eye's of every observer who has common sense saw that it was a lopsided fight. 9 rounds to 3, no reason for a rematch, especially from a part time Oscar. Talking about losing Money?? Then you Mention Lara and 2 HBO fighters..so Lara who has no fanbase at all and the 2 HBO fighters who Showtime would have to SPLIT MONEY WITH if the fights are even possible to make....come on people do ya'll think before posting? sure we want these fights but there are not even possible De La Hoya fought Javier Castillejo Yori Boy Campas Felix Sturm Who are these guys to be fighting on PPV? Im assuming Showtime has to approve Floyd's opponents. Showtime should put a poll with a more then two fighters and see who the fans really want to see Floyd fight. I feel like I always hear HBO turning down fighters opponents. Maybe Floyd is just too big to deny but he is under contract. Floyd would never let anyone have final say over him. He adores being his own boss and would not have had that in his contract.

If its not in their best interests from a business perspective then they won't approve of certain opponents. Floyd is not bigger than cbs/showtime. Networks are in it to make money. Not lose money. The reason why it's taking so long to announce his next fight is because they know both khan and maidana are both risky fights from a business standpoint. Guaranteeing Floyd 32mil on a fight that may not break a mil is not smart business.
