Mayweather and Rigo dont fight THAT differently, yet one is the biggest ppv draw while the other is banished.
Why?
Should rigo play a villan?
I prefer aggressors but is rigo too defensive minded, more so than floyd?
Lol I think the biggest difference is the one I said one guy has the ability to passively press the other guy has not refined it yet Floyds offensive is more complete in that sense he knows what to do when a fighter is frustrated and doesn't even want to throw sh*t anymore, but Rigo turns into throwing his bait jabs which are no fun for nobody because usually a frustrated fighter wont bite.
Yeah that's more accurate. I've noticed when Rigo has stunned people he throws a hard jab and follows it with a monster left , and just repeats the same thing over and over.
For someone so polished and so good I sometimes wonder why he can't put more punches together than that.
Rigo has very good power but c'mon now!!

The only reason Floyd lands more is because his opponents do not fear his power or lack there of. Rigo on the other hand hits really hard and once his opponents realize this and then you add on the fact that he himself has the best defense. His foes just go into the turtle shell defense, which makes for a boring fight. Trust me if Rigo didn't hit so hard his opponents would chase him around the ring just like they do to Floyd and it would be much more exciting.

Thats funny.
Rigo has more power p4p,
He has a bomb in his straight left
And left uppercut.
Has crazy footwork and speed.
He would force floyd to lead .
Floyd would have to dog him to win
They fight totally different and Floyd throws and lands more punches

Anyone that knows boxing will tell you they have different styles. Rigo fans are just dreaming from watching Rigo :bottle:
Rigo is a great fighter, but please show me some clips of him walking anyone down or even pressing the fight..Floyd is very defensive but he throws WAY more punches then Rigo and walks his opponents down..Plus he has moved up 5 divisions won 4 lineal titles and 10 world titles...so HE HAS EARNED WHAT HE HAS
Heres the couple clips you asked for.
And actually floyd does not throw WAY more punches at all actually their numbers for their last big fight especially the power punches are astoundingly similar, and this was a fight that Floyd was praised for pressing the action so they should be even closer in past fights.

Like you said Floyd has had 40+ fights and almost two decades to earn all that he has and he well deserves it. Rigondeaux has had 4 years and nobody can complain for a guy who turned pro at almost 30 he is not doing too bad. The real biggest difference between both boxing wise not the other obvious ones (english barrier persona time etc) is that Floyd has mastered his pro style to make his opponent look stupid when he does land on them, and has also mastered how to press them when they choose not to engage .
Rigondeaux has not figured out how to passively press like Floyd does pot shotting etc he can press but when he does it's usually when he is going for the k.o., because he has lost all respect. Mostly if his opponent is frustrated, and doesn't want to engage he doesn't have a way yet to land on them easily like Floyd does. All Rigondeaux does in such cases is throw bait jabs and hope they bite, but if he can figure another way to land clearly when his opponent is frustrated without having to depend on b/s bait jabs that would be good for him.

he had donaire running in the last round. you kno donaire - the 2012 fighter of the year. had him running in the last round even though donaire needed a knockout.

Floyd has been a pro boxer since the 90s's he has had a long career with a long time to build up and promote, and not only that but he has a public persona to add to everything not to mention he speaks english the only thing they have in common literally is how good and dominant they are, and nothing else . This has been discussed to nauseam already.
Repped
Precise and to the point
If Rigo was younger and got to a big undefeated record, he would probably also be viewed with intrigue by the boxing public but to be honest yeah as people say, weight class...language...not much exposure for the casuals or particularly fan friendly style (mainly for casuals). And Floyd is pretty much a one off when all's said and done, in terms of the publicity he brings.

Weight class and language barriers.
