If victor ortiz losses his upcoming fight with collazo will his career be over think about it the guy has quit twice everyone knows he has no heart quit 2 fights in his prime.
If he quits, then yes career getting big fights will be done,,, If he is just upset by collazo and loses on points, i think his ppv fights are done, but he can always fallback on the berto rematch, or even maidana rematch, or vs broner, ghost, etc....
Ortiz loses, he becomes a stepping stone, instead of a fighter to hype and build towards ppv fights with canelo or floyd
Beating Berto and fighting Floyd never meant that he was one of the top fighters out there.
He has skills and punching power but never had a solid sustained winning streak. He will be another name to throw in there with up and coming fighters
he's already done as a serious fighter
Ortiz is exciting, so he's a Teddy Reid type of guy
he'll be around as an opponent until he gets KO'd again
one more stoppage loss and he might just retire
but as a real contender he's finished, and he's too soft to recover
He may take a decrease in pay but I do not think his career would be over. Golden Boy has been all about putting on exciting fights lately regardless of if you have a losing streak or not and they have a bunch of fighters coming off losses they can match him up with who can make entertaining fights. If he loses tonight he can still go up against guys like Soto Karass, Zab Judah, or rematch Josesito Lopez and Berto. All those fighters vs Ortiz can get marketed as a Showtime main even despite how many losses they have and people would get excited about it.
If he quits again, yes his career is over.
If he gets outboxed and loses by decision, it will be attributed to ring rust. It will be a major setback but he'll still have viable fights. He could fight a Berto rematch or Lopez rematch.
Yeah this is what I thought...If he loses and people need to question his heart again then he will be pretty much off the main scene in my opinion, but he does have options that can keep him around otherwise.
That JAW is a major factor, combine that with inactivity and ring rust.
I am intrigued to see how he'll react after getting hit flush in the jaw.
I am still risking 4 trillion on him... if anyone wants to get easy points, let me know..
