Authorities ban Robeisy Ramirez from international boxing events
Jan 28, -- The Cuban Boxing Federation reported that Robeisy Ramirez will not attend international events for the next 6 months due to lack of proper preparation by repeated absences at training sessions.
The most recent analysis of the disciplinary committee of the National Boxing School revealed that Robeisy shows no optimum shape required to face the responsibility that he is assigned according to his rank.
He explained that the decision was necessary despite Robeisy being initially registered to the top of Friday against Hussars of Poland, as part of the 4th World Boxing Series at the Havana's Sports City, where the featherweight division will be then defended by Marcos Forestal.
However, the official note states that the Olympic champion will remain within the national team and have the chance to rectify his position and resume the role expected for the fans, always worthy of a behavior attached to the discipline and exemplary.
The other Cubans to the top on Friday are flyweight Yosbany Veitía, light welterweight Yasnier Toledo, medium Ramón Luis and cruise Erislandy Savón.
Cuba's Los Domadores team won their previous 6 matches, displaying 18 points and is favorite to be ratified as Group B qualifying leader against a weak Polish team that is in the basement with just 1 point.

Isn't this like the second time that Robeisy's had disagreements with the National boxing team? He may feel unmotivated... All of the Cuban posters on this board can probably figure out why...
I'm not buying it, I've seen too many Cubans make it to the pros and have the wrong style, or not have the stomach for a fight, or make stupid decisions. It's happened time and time again, Odlanier, Gamboa, Rigo...they could have all been or still could be so much more if they didn't have that stubborn Cuban mentality of "my way or the highway".
lol Had to laugh at the bold.
To be honest, the only Cuban boxer I've seen in recent times I thought could be a star was Gamboa. And even he didn't fully convince me. Yuri had the talent, the skills, the blinding speed, the style, the athleticism, the explosiveness and power; but he was too small and didn't have the right look, in my opinion. The same negatives can be said about Rigo, plus he doesn't have the style. Solis, because he's a heavyweight, might've had a better chance if he wasn't such an underachiever. Lara doesn't have the style.
There aren't too many real stars in boxing. Just because a Cuban star hasn't emerged yet doesn't mean much. It's still very early in our return to pro boxing. The time will come soon enough.
Tut tut...Robeisy isn't like all those other Cubans. He's very young (20), so he'll have time to mold his style to the pros. Not that he'll need to change much; he already has a very aggressive, come-forward style. He's skilled; and he can take it, as well as dish it out. And, being so young, English will probably stick sooner. Beyond that, Ramirez is a good looking, charismatic kid. He has all the qualities to become a boxing star in the U.S. If he makes it over, watch out for the kid.

Yeah, like all those great Cubans who made it over and became stars...

Robeisy would have a lot longer to build a fanbase than most Cubans that come over and he has a great style to watch.
Hestill suffers from being too small and the wrong nationality but i think he could make it to being a decent draw
Who knows what's really going on here? Maybe those commie fucks think Robeisy is getting ready to bounce. That kid needs to make it to the U.S. He can be a star.

The kid's got serious ability, and he's aggressive. In fact, he sports the kind of aggression that's born of contempt for the other guy's ability. But Robeisy is charismatic as well. These are star-making qualities.
I remember him fighting our own Conlan at the Olympics.Conlan is a very good fighter but he coulda brought a bat to the ring that night wouldn't have made a difference
pay me the money. i have access to a boat that can get him here comfortably.

When i was a teenager back in Cuba i had a friend that was a Doctor and he used to borrow clothes from me because he couldn't afford any decent cloth on his salary
I have a friend, an older lady who was a doctor back in Cuba. In the nineties, she led a team of doctors sent by the Cuban government to Uganda. She fled the island on a boat, en route to the U.S., about fifteen years ago. She almost died at sea. This friend of mine says she would have rather died out in the open ocean than continue to live in that "hellhole."
He young doe and he just got the highest achievement possible in amateur boxing. I know that cashing in on his talents has to be on his mind.
Robeisy is very cocky. You just know he thinks he's the goods (and with good reason). A person like that wants what's coming to him. I can see him defecting very soon. As with all Cuban athletes, what's probably holding him back are his loved ones.
Cuba got good Doctors and more Doctors per capital than anybody but the health care system is a POS, Doctors getting pay $4 a month, while riding a ****ing bicycle to go to work, hospitals for the cuban people are old and dirty while for the visitants are clean and new, It is **** up after 7/8 of hard study
send you to a work for free to a third world country for political reason and people that run the government take all the credit and all the good's that come from their services

Cuba has the best latin american docs hands down. They do researches to find multiple causes and cures. Which latin american country is more advanced than Cuba in health and medicine category? They send thousands of docs to most 3rd world latin countries. They recently sent 4K docs to brasil at rural areas where docs are barely seen.
A fantastic talent. I hope it doesn't go to waste!
Its a shame though because the amateur system as it is now would have been great learning curve for WHEN (i believe) he enters the pros
Robeisy just turned twenty. If he were to arrive in the U.S. today, he'd be ready to go pro immediately. He has the international experience and success. Felix Verdejo turned pro earlier, with less experience and success. It's just a matter of carefully building the prospect with fights against hand-selected opponents.

Free education and health care but doesn't mean that it's good, a lot of stabbing, assaults, rapes, stealing that you don't heard cus no freedom of press
no rich vs poor but it is the government vs who doesn't like the government
that is worst, communist cuba is a ****hole

I been there 11 times & thought the same thing until my last trip to varadero. there was a outlaw bike gang there. Harley's, all latin, with the 1% MC patches & they were called los Americanos or something along those lines. they had big boys protecting the bikes & when they went to the bathroom their prospects were guarding the bathroom while they were inside. I don't know if they came from another country but I know the tattoo shop just outside town was asking me if I was HA or bandido... saw a guy with a no taco sign sticker(HA's wear it representing no bandidos) too. theses organizations have long arms. maybe just a puppet gang that was on vacation but it was the first time I seen that there...
Cuba's crime rate is way below the rest of latin america.

Free education, free healthcare, super low criminal rates, no drug cartels, no rich vs poor society. I know Cuba has to improve a lot in many areas, but its bard to do since it is comercially sanctioned by the USA, cant do much.
