This nonsense has to stop. Not every fight has to be a bar fight bloodbath. I appreciate fighters that take risks in the ring and go for knockouts, and Mikey is just that.
How easily people forget this guy had KOed his last 10+ opponents (and floored Salido twice in their TD). He's in one "boring" fight--a fight that he tried to make in every round, and people are dumping on him.
Are boxing fans so mentally bankrupt?
Mikey's got skills, but after last week, I'm not going to be in a hurry to watch him fight again. Truly awful thing to watch. There can only be more boring shows as Mikey moves up in weight.
I understand what you are saying. One dull fight does not make Garcia a dull fighter. The other guy was a good pro and was not trying to win. He was just trying to finish on his feet. Garcia usually gets the KO so he is not a dull, boring fighter. I am a Rigo fan and I think Rigo is a much better fighter than Garcia.
I like Mikey, but he got KD by Rocky and almost got one against him against Burgos. The snooze fest was partially due to Burgos being content on boxing and surviving. He wasn't trying to win the fight, Mikey was cutting him off and picking his shots.
How is he knocking people out w/o opening up? You make no sense.
You are doing exactly what I am talking about: Using one performance and generalizing.
I wouldn't get too worked up dude, I've been hearing the same nonsense over and over for the past 4 years and he's still doing his job.
Don't let it get to you, this is same website that say every time Gamboa and Rigo hit the canvas, they were "off balance", yet they get up with spaghetti legs and hold until they recover.
Be cool dude.

Yeap agreed he is never going to be on that level.
Both in my top ten, and I enjoy both. Put either one in with someone who isn't scared *****less and you got a entertaining fight/ko. Some of you guys need to quit hating or at least put the blame on the opponent, who doesn't want to push the action.
They both show an unwillingness to open up against out matched and class opponents. I gave Rigo a pass on Donaire but that's it. Mikey could have opened up but didn't in his last fight. That's what they share that people don't like. Also Rigo's had harder competition to be fair, Mikey's chin is extremely questionable tho...so he's just trying to hold out as long as he can imo.

I don't think hbo gives him the Rigo treatment ,which is the point ts is trying to make but for some reason all you dudes got offended or didn't even read the question correctly.
Mikey will fight bigger names at higher weights who will make for more entertaining fights.
Mikey gettin undue hate, kid looks poised, is strong and has good fundamentals.
His heart and chin may be questioned to a certain extent but he is still starting out at the top level, TBH has faced better opponents than most titlists of his age.
I think he is there for the taking against more dynamic opponents in Uchiyama and even Gamboa because Mikey is too robotic but there's no shame in losing to guys with that level of talent.
Mikey has a high KO%, but that alone doesn't make an exciting fighter. But that's besides the point. He doesn't NEED to be exciting, all he has to do is keep stepping up his level of competition and keep winning.
You're right but Bob and ppl who don't like Chacal are saying Rigo has to be exciting aswell as win. If not it's **** him! That's the problem.
True. Mikey didn't excite but the opponent had a lot to do with that. why a poster would act like this is how its going to be from now on is stupid.
And the Agebko fight was Rigo's fault right? At least Burgos opened up and threw more than Garcia. Agbeko managed to have a great accomplishment, he threw less than Rigo!
