Here is how i see it
Nobody outboxes Floyd, Canelo and many others tried it and Floyd took them to school.
Cotto, Judah and DLH had all success in the first 4-6 Rounds against Floyd because thats the time Floyd needs to adjust to his opponent. Once the fight reaches the second half of the fight its basically over, Floyd is gonna potshot his way to another one sided UD.
Khan has neither the skill nor the quickness to win a decision vs Floyd.
Amir has to land something big early in the fight to take Floyd out of his comfort zone and force him into a dogfight, thats his only chance.
I know Amir has no chin and is probably gonna get KOed anyways but at least he could make it somehow exciting this way and i would give him a 3% chance to win the fight.
Just like Hearns against Hagler, come out swinging like a homeless psychopath on a war flashback and kill or get killed early.
Your thoughts?
Btw sorry for the bad english, not my native language
Stop the madness!!!! This fight isn't competitive...
I'll give Khan a chance like any other, but once that mayweather right lead touches the air in the vicinity(sp) of Khan's chin...his legs are going to wobble like the noodles I just ate!
Khan would have to go Glen Johnson (vs Roy Jones) in the first two rounds and win them convincingly - then the judges will pay attention....from there, get that jab/stick and move game going and make Floyd miss. Maybe, JUST MAYBE....Khan could win 5 rounds.
If Amir can get in good enough shape to throw 125-150 punches per round, it would be difficult for the judges to not favour him even if only connected on 10% of those punches. Volume is overwhelming.
I'd say he felt the shot that almost dropped him in the first round.
Yet he never backed off, in fact he went even harder. He didn't respect anything about Hearns in that ring.
cotto won 4 rounds clearly and there where 3 close rounds in the fight, although i gave them to floyd. What floyd cant handle is a good jab.
I agree that saying floyd cant fight backwards is ridiculous, he has more than prove that!
cotto won rounds 6 & 8 , its funny how pple say floyd got beat up. I guess it cuz noone is used to seeing him with a bloody nose. A bloddy nose isnt getting beat up . Cottos face was swollen and brusied up . Cotto got beaten up. He didnt even give an interview .
A guy with good defense troubles Floyd,. I mean He landed like 27% of his punches vs Cotto who isnt the best when talking defense. A guy like Benitez or Whitakes would had frustrate Floyd.
A guy that had a chance do to his size was Margarito who could had wore down floyd.
As of write now, I see Khan giving Floyd hell, his range and faster hands, would be a key factor. Althoiugh his fighting style doesnt suite with his trainer style. A guy like Robert Garcia for offense or Pedro Diaz would fit him better!
Couldn't have put it any better, I would add Paul Williams to that list, but he gave up his height and all his advantages, and never really used his jab, but his cardio as well as margo's was crazy:boxing:
Totally agree, Cotto was in the fight he was never out classed. The Jab has always been the key, but guys get frustrated when they fight floyd and their plan goes out the window. That's why I believe a fighter with patients and a world class jab, stamina would be the one to have more than a chance to dethrone floyd, its just the fighter doesn't exist in this era. I believe out of all the fighters guys bring up in fantasy fights. The only one I see @ welterweight is Tommy Hearns.

I believe I said the 1st castillo fight was close, and yes he got picked apart in the second fight. No, Cotto won no more than 3 rounds, mayweather was landing off the ropes more than cotto was landing. Even Manny steward mentioned how cotto shots were getting picked off. Nonetheless, to say May can't fight going backwards nor handle pressure is preposterous. :boxing:

Cotto beat Floyd up on round 8, so fuck your theory!
Khan needs to throw lots of punches and stay on the outside. Khan have the speed, power and range to give Floyd hell! Matters of fact I'm willing to bet that after 6 rounds Khan will be ahead on the cards, Floyd will realize that he is behind on the cards and will go full offense and KTFO Khan, because of his weak ass chin
I've seen all of them....Castillo didn't get picked apart in the first fight. At worse it was a draw...delahoya controlled him with the jab a lot of that fight, had Mayweather winning 7-5 with one round that could have went either way. Cotto got to him against the ropes with body work and a straight left. Thought that fight was much closer then the cards but i havent rewatched it since fight night. In the middle of the ring he destroys everyone no doubt, but he is not unbeatable against a volume puncher with a jab and movement. There may be nobody out there like that though so it doesn't really matter. Khan is not the guy...

Ricky Hatton wasn't a volume puncher or none to throw lots of punches and put pressure on guys? I do believe that is what the Hitman was known for in his prime, I may be wrong:thinking: But let me guess May gets no credit for the Hatton fight? Nonetheless, to say May can't fight going backwards nor handle pressure is preposterous. :boxing:
:wtf: Floyd can't fight going backwards:pat: Have you not seen Castillo 1 &2, Hatton, Ortiz, Corrales, Gatti, De La Hoya (rds1-5) just to name few, or any of floyd fights prior to the de la hoya fight. All these guys above put pressure on floyd and got picked apart. 1st Castillo fight was close, and de la hoya was close in the first 5 rounds.:boxing:

Difference being The "Hitman" actually had the power to make Hagler respect him. Khan doesn't have anything to hurt Floyd. He's never even fought at 147 and Floyd has been touched by much bigger punchers. Khan will throw his pity pat flurries and Floyd will make him miss.
To beat Floyd you need a stiff ass jab and be able to go to the body against the ropes because she makes you miss wildly swinging at his head. Floyd can't fight going backwards, he needs to time you to counter, you have to put pressure on him with lots of punches and the jab... Khan has no shot.

No he didn't. Which is why Hagler rushed right at him and walked through everything he had to knock him out. He didn't enter that ring with any respect at all for Hearns.
I'd say he felt the shot that almost dropped him in the first round.
Khan gotta be on his best stick and move game imo...he's gotta make fmj be the
aggressor, fmj isn't used to that role...khan is longer and taller than fmj....
He better use that to his advantage all 12 rounds like his life depended on it...
make fmj take some chances he wouldn't ordinarily take...that's his best chance..
luckily for khan, fmj doesn't fight with the tenacity of a hagler
Ambushing Floyd would be a huge mistake on Khans part, Ortiz somewhat tried it and got very fustrated
Khan needs to fight at range and move in and out using his fast hands and jab, also hitting to the body, one thing Khan does well is indeed hitting to the body.
He needs to keep moving and never stay in pocket, keep his right hand up at all times guarding himself from left hook which he seems to get hurt by.
Basically do what he did against Zab and Paulie
Not smart enough.
Khan has all the physical tools needed BUT he doesn't have the smarts or chin. In a fight like this, you'll see Floyd's solid punching ability have an effect. He should stop Khan. Khan does not belong in the same ring BUT I have seen stranger things. Floyd will be 37 by fight time, Khan is perhaps the fastest fighter in the sport, and has a very cerebral coach in Hunter. If he has learned ANYTHING about defense, look out. If not, May by stoppage. I can't stand Floyd by the way, but I try to give honest assessments when it comes to boxing and logic. Do you agree with what I just said about how the fight could play out?
